^yeah you only do this if you swapped out one or more sensors unless somehow the car lost registration in BCM.

I got the light to blink without stopping while still in ON mode. But as soon as I start up the car the light goes solid and stays solid. If I go through the whole procedure again, it will start blinking again, but the problem remains, as soon as I start up the car it goes solid. Anybody got any ideas?

The plug does not plug in anywhere. It is just taped to the harness.

This worked perfectly for me. However, after about 500 to 600 miles the light blinked again for one minute then remained lit. It went off after several more miles (don't know exactly how many but it was at least 25 or 30). Every so often it repeats this. Seems like several hundred miles between it's return each time. In each case it's stayed on for a while and then gone back off on it's own. My tire pressures have been fine each time.

I have not idea why it's doing this and an intermittent, seemingly random thing like this is the hardest to diagnose. The only way I could even imagine taking it in to a dealership is if I happened to have the light on so they can see it for themselves. But it is likely to go off before I can drive all the way there since I don't live close by.

At least it's off much more often than it's on now.

This was the exact same thing i was experiencing before I took my car to the dealer. The dealer returned the car to me with the light lid constantly and a diagnosis of 1 broken tpms

I tried to reset the light myself and it worked ....NOT, It seems that its not an issue with the reset procedure but one of the sensors is bad.
here is my story....
Took car to get new tires 2 weeks ago as soon as i left the tire shop (justtires) my Tire pressure light came on. I took it back and they tell me "Look online there should be reset instructions". I call later and talk to the manager and he tells me to come back in to reset it. I go back to just tire they try to reset the sensor. After driving a few miles my light comes on again. I call Just tires and they tell me to come back they are gonna try again. I went back to them a total of 4 times then they tell me to go to the dealership so they can take a look at it. Since the sensor inside the tire was not broken Justtire said they wont pay for it to be fixed. The dealership told me themselves that these sensors can get damaged from mishandling them...has anyone had problems with tire shops damaging their sensors with out them breaking? and if so how can it be damaged by tireshops?

Good luck... It's worked for some so hopefully you have no problems.

I bought my rims of another member of this forum with tpms already installed. I never took it to the dealer to have it reset. My brother works for America tire co. and we've tried twice at the shop to reset them with the tools they have. Twice it removed the light, which came back within about 30 miles of driving. Also, as you can see in this thread that I have tried numerous times to reset my own tpms sensors with this little trick. So far I've had not luck and gone through all steps thoroughly. (at this point I should be considered a pro).

One time I did get the light to stop flash after 17 mins of driving. I was sure it worked. The light was on steady and I drove home to fill the air pressure back up to correct psi. Drove the car to work the next day and still nothing, light is still on. I've kind of given up at this time and learned to live with it. I probably have a bad sensor. I wish everyone else luck in performing this. It is a very useful trick, wish it worked for me.
