"Attach a paper clip into the interface plug. "

Excuse my ignorance; what do you mean by attach paperclip? Do you insert the pointy side of the paperclip into the plug?

Yes. Simply get a paper clip, straighten it out, then stick one end into the plug.

Well Modme, I want to say thanks because this method worked like a charm the first time out of the box, exactly as you posted (except the plug is by the left knee, not the right). The light has gone dark after staring at me for months. This thread is now officially Sticky Worthy. Thanks a lot for helping me out as well as the G community.

You still haven't PM'd me your paypal address. You want this money or not?

Does this method work if you have two sets of wheels with TPMS? According what I've read in various places like this forum the sensors themselves have to be activated and that this process erases error codes???

However in the 2nd part of this slightly old PDF appears to describe a new sensor being initialized due to replacement or BCM reset/swap. So if this works then why are comanys offeirng activation/reset tools for hundreds of $$$ for Nissan as well as other cars?

Getting back to the steps, I think the important thing to note is that in Step 7 you cannot turn off the car. I'll have my new wheels ready I'll find out soon. Thanks Modme.

The activation tool is usually for repair shops that have to do hundreds of resets per month. Can you imagine how much time it would take them to set each tire to the correct pressure and drive out for 10 minutes for every car that needs repair? The tool is much quicker.

This method will work with any set of new TPMS as long as they are the Shrader brand sensors used by Nissan/Infiniti. When you set the car to learning mode, it is actively looking for signals sent by the sensors. When it finds them at the correct pressure, it registers these 4 sensors and remembers it. When you put on a different set of wheels, you will have to do this process again.

Thanks for the tip in Step 7. I've updated the instructions.

It's amazing what people are able to find out about our cars. Subscribing to this thread in case I ever have to do a reset.

Just out of curiosity, what's the logic behind the tire pressures?

Subscribed! I will need to do this soon when I install my Vossen's. Do I have to do it even if I put each sensor back to its original side?

The different pressures tell the car the positions of each sensor.

You probably should be okay. If the tpms light comes on, then yes.
