Matt,

Unfortunately I don't know of a top quality pro off hand. Maybe try posting the same question in the regional section? Sorry I can't be more helpful here.

If it's fresh you can wipe it off with a light degreaser (i.e. P21S Total Auto Wash). If it's been there for a while still try the degreaser if available. If the sun has baked it in for a few days or more it can become more challenging and I often rely on the Poorboy's World Trim Restorer for this task. Let me know if you have any other questions and I'll be happy to help.

I would take a slight damp microfiber towel and wipe the affected area. If that doesn't use work take the same damp cloth and spray a light cleaner on it like the 303 Cleaner & Spot Remover and wipe it with light pressure. Hope this helps!

We have several articles sharing several different methods to help with the headlights here Headlight Care – Detailed Image. There is no one right method and hopefully one of these articles matches what your headlights look like and some products you may already have around. If you need some new products for seriously oxidized and scratched surfaces I'd recommend the DI Packages Headlight Restoration Advanced Kit. Two other quality options are the the Meguiar's Headlight Restoration Kit and the Meguiar's Heavy Duty Headlight Restoration Kit. If you have any other questions please let me know.

For example, I clay my car, apply the Blackfire Gloss with glaze fillers, then apply a coat of Blackfire Wet Diamond. In a few weeks or so ( after a wash ) could apply a layer of the Blackfire Glass, and another coat of Blackfire Wet Diamond on top?

Thanks
Yes you could apply the products in the manner you described. Another option I would recommend to you is during your maintenance details just apply a coat of the Wet Diamond and skip the glaze, just save that for the full details. Definitely no one right answer here, it's more personal preference so try different options if time permits. If you want to be sure what works best for you try it both ways and see if you like the glaze and sealant or just the sealant better or two coats of sealant.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi Greg,

Today I discovered a bunch of baked in dirt/mud on the front splash guard and lower portion of my front driver door. They are about the size of a piece of rice.

I have tried everything to remove them with no luck. I washed the affected area with dish soap then followed up with Meguairs claybar. The claybar didn't do anything since it looked brand new after i slide back and forth on an effected area. I even tried ScratchX but again it didn't seem to have any effect on the dirt.

Any ideas? I know this is probably pretty bad and might need professionals to fix it. Thanks!

The Stoner Tarminator is one of my go to products in these situations. It helps break up tar and all kinds of road grime on the vehicle. If that doesn't work maybe try something even stronger like the 3M Adhesive Remover or mineral spirits. One of these options should help break it down with some agitation. Afterwards wash the area very thoroughly and protect it again with your favorite sealant or wax and it should look great again.

Thanks for the quick response. I'll give the 3M a shot. I assume this is what you are talking about.

If I polish with Menzerna PO85rd what should i do next to prep for the Menzerna Power Lock. I've heard a glaze is a good idea. Trying to prevent the smudging and fingerprints after applying the sealant.

The PC is indeed great. I have one. But I later bought a Flex as well and I now use it about 90+% if the time and the PC sees little use. Huge difference in price though. But for me it was well worth it.

After some fantastic surface prep with Meguiar's 105 and CG JetSeal 109 for long lasting protection, I'm going to try layering Dodo Juice Blue Velvet and Supernatural on my Black Obsidian G. Hopefully the combination of the two will give me an amazing deep, wet gloss. I finally used the Supernatural last week in a customer's Liquid Platinum G and he almost wet his pants he was so happy.

My question is this: Does it matter at all which goes on first or last? Will layering them one or the other way give a better appearance or greater durability?

The PO85RD is an outstanding polish but extremely light. Afterwards you don't have to do anything you can go right to the sealant but it's up to you. A glaze will help add a bit more gloss to the surface if interested. The Menzerna Finishing Glaze and the Chemical Guys Extreme EZ-Creme Glaze with Acrylic Shine II are two of my favorites.

The Chemical Guys Speed Wipe (Anti-Static) Quick Detailer is a great detailer to use with a plush microfiber towel (i.e. DI Microfiber Ultra Plush Two Sided Towel) after the sealant to ensure that you don't have any fingerprints or smudges left behind. It has anti-static properties and gloss enhancers that should enhance the appearance and keep the paint cleaner for longer.

If you need the polishes and pads in one kit check out this one DI Packages Porter Cable 7424 XP, Meguiar's Polish and Hydro Pads. These polishes can help restore the finish to like new and are very user friendly.

If you want to get more pads the DI Packages Porter Cable 7424 XP 6.5" Starter Kit is a really popular option.

With any DI Package you can select any combination of Lake Country Pads you'd like by adding a comment in the comment field. If you have any specific needs don't hesitate to ask, I'm here to help!

I don't think any one combination is definitely going to work best and opinion often varies in the eye of the beholder. For the best durability and shine I would probably just do multiple layers of the Jetseal 109 and the Supernatural afterward. Make sure you wait a minimum of one to two hours in between coats and up to 24 hrs for maximum durability. Let me know if you have any other questions and I'll be happy to help.
