I did it the same way Roch mentioned...pulled a hose off the brake booster and let it "sip" from a bottle caps worth...there were DIY's on MY G35.com and youtube videos IIRC

Using the larger brake booster line is a two-person job, so that someone can maintain the throttle. That's probably why you just sipped at the Seafoam in little amounts. The VIAS vacuum line was smaller, and meant I could do it myself from the driver's seat, by keeping a strong throttle. A 6 foot section of hose for a few bucks, in prep for the project.

I also remember a check-engine coming on afterwards, then going away after some miles on the car. I didn't check the code, but odds are it was a vacuum leak (doh!).

I didn't even realize that there was a two person way to do it..I thought the sipping way was so that it doesn't take too much liquid in at a time ...but that makes sense....the more you know!

Whoa, that seems a bit involved. Has anyone tried adding it through the intake on a G37? Or has anyone tried adding it to the oil right before you do an oil change?

I bought a can of it that came with a straw, So you can slip it under the throttle body intake hose.
Still need someone to keep RPM's up while spraying in.This was for the wife's yukon which is a single intake.

Yeah that's what i'm wondering. Do i do one at a time, or is this a 3 person job?

wow, i didn't realize that was the "official" way to do it....TBH, it seems overly complicated....I followed what this guy did (sans messing with the TB), seems to have the same result:

genuinely curious, is there anything wrong with doing it this way? seems like it takes a bit longer for the "Sipping", but overall with the far less complicated setup and not needing a "helper" seems like it would be faster and much easier to do especially if you cant get a person (or two) to help

This one is interesting... guy removes the plugs and snakes a camera down to look at the cylinder heads.

great video, now I just want to stick a camera down my engine holes....interesting that he notes the plugs weren't fouled, I was thinking it may be an issue, but it makes me feel better about it..I have changed the plugs on my car twice, the last time i felt it was a little soon but it was needed for sure, not sure if it had anything to do with this (probably not)...one comment on the youtube video mentioned it fouling an O2 sensor I'm a little concerned about that given the PIA it is to change the upstream 02 sensors on this car especially the drivers side...that being said i'd probably do it again anyways

This process seems strange using a vacuum hose and a lot of effort for a minimal change according to the pictures in the video Rochester posted. In this video it looks like the guy drove around with the intake completely removed from the throttle body. I wonder if our cars would be similar since we have dual intakes and the G35 has a single intake. Why go through all the trouble if the seafoam can just go into the gas tank and also end up in the combustion chamber?

I've always seen people split the can into thirds.

1/3 oil

1/3 gas tank

1/3 vacuum line for brake booster

I used around 2/3 can on my brake booster line. Had to keep the throttle maintained to prevent it from dying. It did smoke a decent amount but not like some cars I've seen on YouTube. Ideally you would do this before doing a spark plug change.

I haven't tried it on my oil but you would also do an oil change after driving it for a bit. When I use it for my gas I use a whole can.

Hey I'm from Milwaukee with similar plans for my G. Did you just buy the Z1 brake duct kit they sell for the 370Z? I already started deleting my fog lights so I could run inlets through them.

Right now my goals are:
lightweight wheels/tires
z1 2 piece rotors / brake ducts
racing seats
battery relocation

Anything else you'd add to that last if I plan on autocrossing it? Already got assorted mods / coils.
