Alright guys, I'm working on this as well right now. Working on testing fitting and sanding/smoothing all of the mold seams/imperfections and then it will be sent over for a paint match.

 

Installed spacers. 18" doesn't look too bad with the right offset.

 

Nice, also never a bad idea to give those calipers a bit more room back there

 

Nice. How's the lip install going?

 

Not so well. The lip was fitting REALLY good. I was actually surprised how tight it fit to the body of the car. Then I looked underneath the car and the bottom had spots that were "bacon-ed". I've let the lip sit outside for weeks and even got bored waiting and bought a heat gun, still to no avail. Not sure if I should return and call it quits, exchange and hope I got a dud, or return and buy another brand/style.

On a better note, the car feels noticeably more stable and planted with the spacers installed. Not to mention it solves the seriously under filled wheel well space. This should tide me over until I can settle on a set of wheels.

 

That's unfortunate. I just got a poly lip from Autokits. Not a bad place to get a lip from. It doesn't come painted, but I can't imagine it would cost much to have painted. It fits like a glove. Have any ideas on wheels yet or are you still trying to find that perfect set?

 

Paint isn't an issue for me since I have someone who can help me out with that. I am still looking for wheels and trying to consider all of the possibilities. I'm not too excited to get something that will be noticeably heavier, but it seems inevitable. Trying to work out the kinks on offsets, I'd like to go pretty aggressive without rubbing.

 

What size of spacers

 

20mm for the front and 25mm for the rear

 

Lucky you. I wish I had a paint hookup here, haha. I didn't like getting the heavier wheels, but it's not like the G is a racer anyways haha. I say go with what looks good to you. I tried to find some lighter wheels, but I couldn't find any with my taste.

 

Yeah, I know what you mean. Finding a set of wheels that meets all of my criteria is really turning into quite the project. I'll be honest though, I think I have a set figured out. I'll keep that secret in my back pocket for now though. I love making the car look better, but I'm having a hard time investing a large amount of money in making the car slower.
