Cold start to idle, a couple 3k revs, a couple 2k revs. Revs start at about the minute mark for those who don't care to wait for the idle to become stable. (click image below to start video) http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e1...psgc1wip5q.mp4 Old Forgestar Wheels: Attachment 146308 Attachment 146309 My Modding Story: I purchased my G37 new in September 2013 with the intention of keeping the car relatively stock. I heavily modified my previous car: full headlight retrofit, wheels/tires, lowered, BBK, intake, exhaust, full audio/navi, alarm, body work, tints. Here is a picture: Attachment 146310 I thought I was done, but I was wrong. Here is a picture shortly after I purchased the car. Attachment 146311 I eased myself into the modifications. I started by researching how I could install the aluminum sport pedals. I didn't find much, so I created this DIY: https://www.myg37.com/forums/d-i-y-i...tallation.html Before: Attachment 146312 After: Attachment 146313 At this point, I was truly craving to untap a little bit more of the signature VQ note. On my previous car, I had an Invidia exhaust, and the drone was unbearable at highway speed. With this in mind, I went for the OEM Sport Muffler. I don't have any regrets, this exhaust is great! Attachment 146314 Attachment 146315 I have never been a huge fan of the chrome lip spoiler either, so I purchased this: Attachment 146316 Minor upgrade :D, but I put the Sport Seats in as well... Attachment 146317 I couldn't resist adding the sport brakes and lowering my car. I used Centric Premium rotors and Akebono ProACT brake pads and there is great stopping power without any noise. I lowered my car with Eibach ProKit springs and front and rear SPC alignment kits. All work was done by Project X. Before: Attachment 146311 After: Attachment 146319 There is a very nice and snug fit with the Akebono brake calipers and the coupe 18" wheels, but they fit without spacers! Attachment 146320 Attachment 146321 Then, I finally had a chance to install the OEM spoiler. It's a very uncomfortable feeling when you have to drill rather alrge holes into your car, but it was well worth it! Attachment 146322 Attachment 146323 Attachment 146324 Next, I installed spacers. 18" wheels don't look too bad with the right offset. I went with 20mm for the front and 25mm for the rear. Attachment 146325 Attachment 146326 Then I finally got around to doing what people usually have as their first mod... tint. I went with 35% for the front windows and 20% for the rear three windows. The tint is 3M Color Stable. Attachment 146327 I pulled the trigger on the RWD rear sway bar to replace the tiny AWD rear sway bar. This makes a huge difference and is one of my favorite and least expensive mods to date! Attachment 146328 Finally, I decided on a set of wheels - 20" staggered Forgestar CF10. I also put in a set of Weathertech Mats. Also, here is proof it's a daily driver, lol. Attachment 146329 Attachment 146330 Attachment 146331 Attachment 146332 Next, I added an OEM Midnight Grille. I wanted to try and make my Forgestar setup a bit more aggressive, so I added 15mm Project Kics bolt on spacers to the rear wheels. This makes the rear 20x10.5 +20.
Attachment 146293 Attachment 146294 My previous car had a subwoofer and I have been missing the extra bass ever since. That isn't the case anymore. I installed the Zenclosure box loaded with a JL 10w3v3-4 subwoofer and powered it with an Alpine MRV-M500 amplifier. The sound is amazing and I love having control with the JL bass knob I mounted right under the steering wheel in the place Infiniti put a blank cover. Attachment 146295 Attachment 146296 Since I had Zenclosure make this box the exact volume requirements of the JL 10w3v3 subwoofer and my amplifier is very small, I had room to mount the amplifier on the back of the box and still have clearance to push the box all the way back. It fit like a glove. Attachment 146297 Here is a JL remote control that I custom fit into the blank place holder near the parking sensor on/off button. This is a great place for it to go. Attachment 146298 I wanted to change up my exterior look a little bit so I decided to get some deep concave, rotary forged wheels in gloss gunmetal. Attachment 146299 Attachment 146300 Attachment 146301 Attachment 146302 I installed the Takeda Attack Long Tube Intake. It adds a nice roar in the higher RPMs that compliments the exhaust note nicely. Attachment 146303 Attachment 146304 I rewrapped my steering wheel with black leather, dimpled black leather, and matching grey contrast stitching. https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.myg...4d9c16cbeb.jpg |

Thanks!, maybe I can sway you into a couple more mods :2:. I really tried my best not to mod the car, but I just kept looking, and finding parts, and buying them. Well, I might as well sit back and enjoy the ride now. :8:

That's where I'm at too. Once I get the new BBK and rotors on I'm hoping to slow down a bit. Still want to drop mine and tune it but I am thinking it would be nice to run some sport seats, that's a nice change in yours. May seem small but I'm figuring it was a bit of $$$.

You would think the hardest part wold be spending the money on the seats, but I don't think that was the case. It was finding a set in near mint condition that a picky person like myself was willing to put into a new car. It took me a couple months to hunt down the matching pair and it set me back about $1,300 shipped. Overall, it was worth every penny to me.

Nice to see you on the G forums! I like what you've done with the car. I hated that chrome lip spoiler as well. You want to trade wheels? Haha. I really want those sport wheels for my car. Don't forget to join the V36 Coupe Page or the Coupe and Sedan page on Facebook. Always something going on there.

Nice start, look forward to seeing how it goes. Damn, nice stoppers on that Mitsu too!

I hear ya there, good find. If I wind up going with a seat swap I'm thinking... I may have them reupholstered... But then I'm spending considerably more yet again. I guess if it's worth doing it's worth overdoing right?
Lol, why not. You would save a few bucks on the actual seats, due to the condition, and then have them made exactly to your specs.

Unfortunately the spoiler is still in the box, I need to get that on ASAP! You might be a little disappointed if we traded wheels though since mine are not sport wheels. ;) They are the 18" AWD Journey for the 11-14 models. They look very similar to the Sport 19's though, I think I like the design a little better too. The spokes are a little twisted and it catches the light very nicely.

Those Brembo's were one of my favorite additions to the Mitsu. I am excited to put in the Akebono's so I can renew my membership in the BBK club, lol. |
Holy crap! I didn't even realize those weren't sport wheels! Hahaha. I still want to trade you, they look awesome! Get that spoiler on, it looks great on the G.

A bold move it was to go to the Sport seats. You didn't have ventilated seats previous did you?

Lowered is correct. Tints haven't been done yet unfortunately. There was one other thing done you can see in the picture. :)
