Still a few years away. Four at the earliest, six at the latest. When the day comes, I fully expect to have to travel to get this car, just like I did for my G.

Because of the experience with my Sedan, I was quick to accept that the F-Type 6MT has similar rarity. I remember five years ago, feeling somewhat dumbfounded that once I had decided on the car I wanted, that I couldn't find it without patience and personal effort. SomeName, I know you know what II'm talking about.

The other thing I'm noticing (and was hoping for), is that these cars are selling deeply under MSRP. Those two F-Type S 6MT you found in PA... $75K with under 5000 miles. Figure actual sale price even deeper, then compare that to the $90K MSRP. Not bad.

My plan is to watch these things depreciate, and pick up a 5 year old model for under $40k. Knock on wood. Until then, patience and research.

Oh yeah, I wasn't suggesting you go buy it. I just thought you might want to take a day trip to test drive it. That's what I did just to drive the one AE that was "close enough". Even though I kinda knew I wasn't going to buy it, too many miles. I had to see one in person before making my final decision.

Jaguar uses a VLSD like Nissan? I don't understand why they can't just use a mechanical limited-slip differential.

I actually asked the dealership that question, and he said it was viscous. But as I research this a little bit more, it seems they use a mechanical LSD in the "S", and an electronic LSD in the RWD "R".... which has since been replaced with their AWD system. However, that's just quick googling. It's possible that configuration was model-year specific.

I'm still learning, Z. Heck, it was only just now that I realized you had to get the "S" in order to get LSD. For a brief moment there, I was thinking the base model 6MT Coupe would suffice, since the torque was almost exactly the same, the 40 hp difference was only at the very top of the RPM curve, and both models get the adjustable exhaust (assuming 6MT in each). At mid-range, the two models are virtually identical. For a while there, it seemed all the "S" got you was the adjustable suspension, some luxury options, and 40 extra hp that was more about marketing than real-world driving.

I've been trolling the Jaguar forum for a year now. But it's still mostly filled with posers and stupidly wealthy Europeans. Haven't lifted a whole lot of useful info off of it yet... which is really just a lame excuse on my part. It's difficult to focus on details for a plan that is so many years away. But I'll get there, just like I did with the G.

Funny, great minds must think alike, John... I actually just drove a White 2016 F-Type 6-Spd Coupe a couple of weeks back. It was an early lease return with just under 4K miles on it and they are only asking around $58K for it(Used 2016 Jaguar F-TYPE For Sale | San Diego CA). They also had a 2016 F-Type R on the lot for just under $80K (which I also test drove)... so, as you mentioned, these cars are definitely going to depreciate quickly and should make for a pretty nice pick-up in just a few years.

Unfortunately my wife tells me that I need to get rid of a car before I can get another one. And since there's way too much money in my Jeep, my Porsche has an LS3 engine swap in its future and my Ram 2500 is less than two years old that means I would need to get rid of the G before I can get an F-Type. And since I'm not quite ready to part with my G, I'll be waiting another year or two before I make the change.

I was also just about to join Jaguar Forums, but it sounds like it may not even be worth joining before hand.

Polaris White and Dark Sapphire are probably my favorites colors for the F-Type, but this Stratus Grey is a very close 3rd. Although, that chrome trim has got to go... I would most definitely get one with the exterior black pack.

What were you up to in Vegas anyway? I was just up there on August 27th for a car show.

Odd transition from G37 sedan to Jaguar Coupe. I have been oogling at the Alfa Giulia lately but it's a $80k car.
50/50 weight distribution, 503hp @ ~3400 lbs, Manual Trans. , RWD.

I mean look at this pure sexyness

Eye of the beholder, man. The Giulia does absolutely nothing for me. If an Italian pimp were a car...

The wheels, exhaust tips, front grille, stupid CF interior, etc. That car is a hot mess.

Not even the performance? wheels, exhaust tip, grille you can always mod to your taste. Your G doesn't have any of the stock items you just referenced.
Comparing it to the M3 or the Mercedes ...but like u say to each his own

Purchased a Whiteline Rear Differential bushing kit just now, from Z1 Motorsports. $110 shipped.

Baby steps.

Next purchase won't happen until January (gear and pinion), because I've got a pair of snow tires to buy for both cars.

GunsNRoses concert! Sounds like fun! Too bad we missed each other in Vegas. There were the Drag Nationals going on at Vegas Motor Speedway along with a pretty decent Domestics Vs. Imports car show.

It's getting to be time to start thinking about when I'll be putting mine on this year. I'm hoping I've got another 2 months but it's not likely.
