19x9.5 +35 fits well, but 275s fit better on them. 255 has a slight stretched look I'm not a fan of. For 255s I'd go with 8.5 for a square shouldered look.
When I bought my wheels I insisted on 9.5s all around, and the vendor said "are you sure???" I should have listeneed. Wound up having to get spacers and longer studs which added a lot of cost and made me nervous about fitment.
Well, I ended up wimping out and going with 19x8.5 +45 wheels and 245/40 rubber based on an extended conversation with a specialist at TireRack. The 8.5" wheel WILL except 255/40 rubber, however, the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ rubber I chose runs wide, their 245/40 size is wider than some company's 255/40. So we'll see how it goes, I figure I can always throw on 255/40 rubber next time if the ride is too harsh with the decreased sidewall of the 245/40. After all, it only took me 14,000 miles to wear a set of 225/50 Conti Extreme Contact DWS 06 tires down to 3/10ths.
The wheel/tire package arrived today and it was a bitter sweet moment. The wheels are awesome, I love the style and finish. The tires, on the other hand, were a mistake. I should have gone with my gut, trusted you guys, and bought them in 255/40. The 255/40 not only would have fit, they would have looked better and rode better in my opinion. I guess there's always next time . . .
I'd give them a little time Bionicman, that extra 5mm more to the outside shouldn't result in a different ride, at least not one that would be noticeable on daily drives. Look pretty good IMO.
That's a bummer. If you were closer I would trade you.
Haha, yeah, that would be a hike. I do like the look of the 9.5's on your car.

Thanks. I've got a little more life left on my 225/50's, then I'll throw these on. The wheels look nice standing beside the car, but I'm very intrigued to see what they look like installed.
On another note, I'm curious if anybody has tried 245/45 on a 19" wheel. It would eat up some fender gap and provide a more compliant ride, but I'm not sure if they'd rub or upset the drivetrain. The diameter would be 3.06% over stock and the radius would be 0.41" greater.

Personally, I think they look a bit anemic. I'm also concerned about a harsh ride due to the significant decrease in sidewall, but I can't say that I mounted and tested them yet. Perhaps I'll be pleasantly surprised.

Yeah, I'd hold off until you get some time on them at least 500 miles, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised
Out of winter mode and finally got my summer tires installed. Vertini RF 1.1 Brushed Titanium 19x8.5 ET35 combined with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S 255/40/19.
I've thought about it and have looked at Swift or Tanabe springs as options, since I'm not wanting a bigger drop due to winters and crappy roads.
Nothing wrong w/ staying at OEM height, drops can induce some headaches, it looks nice but sometimes the pain isn't worth the gain And going w/ 19s isn't as dramatic as going w/ 20s @ stock height.
How much room do you need to clear the calipers and leave 2mm space? Might be able to get by w/ something minimal like a 5mm. I would only get the thinnest one you need that will allow that caliper to clear safely. Only downside is the thinner spacers (under 15mm) typically need extended studs, unless you only need less than 5mm.

I am not sure how to measure it but from the look of it, at least 15mm is required.
