So I got my rear quarters pulled a little bit to be able to drop it another inch to even it out with the front and possibly fit that 285 I really want lol ...
what so do you guys think of bronze on slate blue ? I'm thinking of getting the wheels powedercoated a dark bronze like the one of the TE37's
Looks like a decent job on the pull. IMO bronze looks great on just about any OEM G paint color. I think the only color it would look great on would be a bronze G, lol. So I'd say go for it!
Heyas all, searched the forums and scrounged about trying to get a warm fuzzy if I can shoehorn Nitto NT05 305/30/20 tires on the rear of my Boosted 2013 G37S 6MT. Looking for some thoughts/input for someone smarter than I on this.
I saw a couple guys running 305/30/20 but not enough details around the setups. I am lowered on swift sport springs (-1.3" front and -1" rear).
My current tire setup is:
Front: Rohana 20x9 +35 Nitto NT555 G2 255/35/20
Rear: Rohana 20x10 +45 Nitto NT555 G2 285/30/20
Via the latter would seems to indicate that I will just barely squeek them on there.
For further diligence I test mounted my 255/35/20 Nt555 G2 (27" diameter ) on the rear and the height clearance looks good (NT05 = 27.2" diameter). Width of the 305 vs that of the existing 285 is where I am guessing things are going to be close (looks to be ~.90" larger so .45" both sides.
Here are links to a couple of pics I took of the existing setup: Rear1 Rear2 Rear3 Rear4
I ran 295/30/20s on my 10 +45 w/ camber right at -1, If you're not against running more camber in back you should be ok. FWIW you'll be needing 10mm more room than your current setup (assuming the NT05s run the same widths as the NT555s). The 305 on a 10 is quite a pinch mount however, so you will get some rolling of the sidewalls if cornering at higher speeds. Is there any Extreme Performance Summers that you like in a 295/30?
Tirerack has a decent selection of Max Performance Summers in 295/30 like the Kumho Ecsta, Bridgestone S0-4s, and the Superb Michelin Pilot Super Sports which should provide quite a bit more grip and not require anything additional and a better mount on a 10. https://www.tirerack.com/tires/TireS...earDiameter=17

Yeah the guy who did them takes pride in his work and is very maticulate with making sure everything looks like it came like that from factory..
ill post pictures after there done and back on the car

I was looking at the 295/30/20 Michelin Pilot Super Sports also. They would match the diameter of my fronts and bring down the speedo error a bit as well not that it matters all that much since I am RWD. I was doing a bit of research and was up in the air between the Nitto and the only reason I leaned that way as to get more meat on there to put my power to the road better and to match my fronts with the same brand (my own **** retentiveness not that it matters in that regard). So the Super Sports are more sticky than the NT05 even with the higher treadwear rating on them? Also having a bit less meat on them than the 305? They would definitely seem to be the safe fit here not being too much bigger than my existing 285's as well. Looks like there is a newer version of the tire as well know as the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. Thanks for the help here man, been banging my head up against the wall on this for the past few days.
NT05s are primarily a track tire so are designed for grip as their main goal, the Super Sports are a performance tire for all around road conditions but exceed most any other Max Performance Summer tire. Your NT555s are a Ultra High Performance (UHP) Summer tire so these will be a step below the Max summers in grip. Not sure how the NT05 is categorized but most of those track dedicated tires fall into the Extreme Performance Summer category which again, is another step up the grip ladder
You should be very happy w/ either the Pilot Super Sports or the Bridgestone S0-4 Pole Positions vs. your current NT555s, and they should get much more tread life than the NT05s back there.
Be very cautious driving in the rain with those tires. I had to drive Yokohama A032s in the rain once and I was by far the slowest car on the road because the tires had no grip on wet road.
Thank you blnewt, I am going to go with the 295/30/20 Michelin Pilot Sport 4S, I will update with results here once I have them on.
This should leave me with the following specs:
Wheel: Rohana RF2 20x10
Offset +45
Tire: 295/30/20 Michelin Pilot Sport 4S
Tire Diameter with Rim: 27"
Tire Width: 11.9"
Tire Sidewall height: 3.5"
Revs per mile: 771
Speedo error: -0.93%

Keep in mind the Pilots run a bit wider than most, so you still might be tighter at the fenders but if you don't mind running a bit more camber yu should be fine (and you might just be fine as-is) I would also consider those S0-4 pole positions, they are closest to the Pilots and are quite a bit cheaper typically.
And slartibartfast speaks the truth, those extreme performance Summers are set up for dry grip, and can handle wet to a point, but once the tread gets worn it can be really poor in the wet.
I ordered em up today while I was ordering up tires for rims on our other Infiniti (Q60S RS) from my local Discount Tire they are actually even a little bit cheaper than the online price here: Discount Tire Direct
