i have a 2009 g37 sedan with akebonos, would a set of BBS RS-GT 18x8 +18 front & 18x9 +18 rear be too aggressive for the sedan? and what are the limits of pulling/flaring the guards?
ChinkyChoy has run a 9.5 +25 without fender work, so that's one mm difference w/ that back wheel and he runs 245 width tires. Might shoot him a PM and see what he says. I would strongly recommend against doing any pulling of the fenders, the rears are already flat-rolled from the factory so you can roll the front fenders pretty easily.
Pulling fenders looks really bad unless it's done exceptionally well.
Hmm I don't want all that camber and stretch. What would you recommend the most beefy tires I can go with my offset without doing all that work?
Not sure if it's possible to have those wheels redrilled, but just going by the offsets you listed without any adapters you should be able to run 255/40 fronts 285/35 rears. But depending on adapter thickness you'd have to shrink those widths down to a max of 255 in back, and even then it may be too much
Don't ask lol....bought the setup for my stocks and minimal cash. So needless to say amazing deal. He was slammed in his Q so had stretch tires.
Question is, I am buying coils so will be dropping soon.(stance, tein flex z, or tanabe comfort R) I want some nice full tires, so tired of being scared on every bump I dented a rim with this 245 on a 11" wheel haha. Not to mention the ride quality is meh.
So what tire size should I shoot for? I was thinking 285/30 or 295/30, or even 305/30 if not too much. The fronts are ok, not so bad, when they wear down a lil more I may throw on some 245-255/35. Will I be ok at those sizes?
I'm dropping just to close gap probably, so about .5-1 rear and 1-1.5 front or so abouts. Currently the wheels are pretty even with fender, but after drop they will tuck a bit right? If so I will have to flush Em up with larger spacer. Which I needed to get nicer real spacers anyway, if not great but we will see.
I know it's kinda hard to tell how much I can fit until it is dropped.
Also, what brand of tire should I go for? Live in Phoenix, so weather is not issue. Looking for comfort over all, with performance next.
May all be temp anyway. I don't like chrome, so either powder coating or maybe sell and update w something concave, but until then I wanna make Em look good as they can. Currently dipped white w glossifier as a test, ton of work w all the rivets but actually looks great.
Luckily you seem to have plenty of room, going from a 245 to a 295 will add about an inch to your outer tire width. Just get a 1" sponge, foam or even a paperback book that's about an inch thick and lay it against your tire so you can get a good visual. If the tires are in decent shape (and you like them) I'd run the 245s in front and go up to at least a 285/30 and even wider if you have the room.
Can I fit a 245/45/19 tire on a 19x10.5 rim, stretch?
255s are a common stretch on a 10.5, 245s would be pushing it IMO but I'm sure it's been done. I wouldn't feel good about pushing the car too hard w/ that fit for sure.
Hi there, i have a question here. I have a '10 G37S Sedan, lowered on Tein-S springs.
Currently, i am sitting on STR607 20x9 (+30)F/ 20x10.5R (+45) , with 245/30/20 and 275/30/20 and they fit fine.
I am looking into a set of used wheels. They are 20x10 +20 square set, with 255/35/20 tires mounted on. Will the rear fit?
Well after going through page after page I'm still not sure what will fit.
08 G37S Coupe
Wanting to run 20" wheels, as wide as I can get with a flush, no crazy camber, no rubbing or cutting, no fender rolling. Just bolt on and go.
The car is used for track days and auto-x in the summer months so proper alignment is a must.
Can anyone shed some light on this?
For the front I have seen talk of 20x9.5 and 20x10 fitting without any work needed but unsure of offset. The rear I seem to see a lot of 20x10.5 and 20x11 in a +35 fitting but again not 100% sure.
Any help would be great or if asked before a link back to that post as I cant find anything that answers this 100% for me.
From your experiences, what is the most negative camber you can run front and rear without having to worry about cupping the tires? I run Tein Basis and will probably be running 245/275 19 RE-71R or something similar for mostly street, but a handful of track days. It looks like I might need rear adjustable camber arms is there is way more negative camber in the back right now on the snow tires.
