What you're saying is pretty ironic though. You're saying GT is the ultimate simulator (Which I'm not denying, the graphics have always been the best) but you're saying in the game you can do spin outs and handle the car great yet you can crash into the walls and your car shows no damage? Then you go on to ask why it matters when your paint chips? I'm saying that is apart of racing and I'm talking about a complete racing simulation, just not the driving aspect. So you lose time and spots when I hit the wall, big deal, my car won't reflect it. Either way this is just one aspect of the game.

With the video John posted above I can't tell too much of a difference of the game side by side. I can't tell these 'better graphics' you keep harping up. GT4 looks a little more refined but the difference isn't as great as you think.

Oh yea, speaking of fanboys you got your very own up top!
if you want a "real" complete racing simulation there should be a racing seat sold with it.... that simulates teh crashes and the feel. and steering wheel and pedals... helmet... a heater to simulate how hot it is in the race cars.

^^hahahahah exactly my point. i want more than 'damage' to look and feel like the car handles as it does in real life. if it doesnt even look like the real thing, why would it matter that i scratch leks rear quarter as i pass him on turn 8??

GT FTMFW!! Check out that G35 driving...this is GT HD...

I've always had more respect for those who did what nobody else could do. GT did this with the PS1. They developed the most comprehensive and best racing game to date on outdated hardware. Everybody simply took what they did, and copied...no respect to the posers. The original will take the cake...so long as they keep up the good stuff. Id be willing to jump ships, but IMO forza still needs about 2-3 years...

Lek dont worry, Pratiks just mad b/c he bought a 360 now!! If he had a ps3 he'd be all about GT!! GT gives you the ability to MOD prior to any other game that was on the market. The rest are just posers...

Rays/Volk, Dunlop, Bridgestone, HKS, Amuse, Enkei, ARC, Project Mu, Roberuta... where else can you get a G35, throw on the HKS TI exhaust and some Volks and race around Nurburgring??

wouldnt crashes affect aerodynamics and performance of the car?

2 similar games with their obvious differences. I don't think anyone will be swayed. Why not just own both

They do in FM2, you SEE the damage and depending on what/how you collided it affects everything from suspension, to drivetrain, to a cracked exhaust and smoke billowing out of your car.but in GT you just spin and lose some time, then get back up to speed like nothing happened. Also in FM2 if you crash/take damage, they take from you winnings to simulate the cost of repair.

But hey, apparently if you want to simulate what real racing is like, it's only about graphics. Not about simulating consequences and rewards for your actions.

Trying to defend a "simulator" that doesn't simulate everything possible is just asinine. FM2 let's you set up cars to drift, it has 360fps feedback on road feel so you can actually feel everything your car does, it runs at a butter smooth 60fps, you can tweak everything from tire pressure to boost pressure to down force from your aero kits. You can run the perfect race line, you can drive in auto mode or manual mode. The whole point is that GT is missing something that FM incorporated. It's that added element [along with car clubs, online auctions, ability to paint/vinyl/skin my cars, race my entire career online if I want, upload photos, etc] that puts FM over the top for me. Graphics, a bit better in GT but that alone doesn't make the all out best sim, it just means it looks a bit better that's it. And from the comparo/side-by-side video.. even that's arguable.

By your reasoning

GT has elements FM has forgotten. They have forgotten the element of tuning, and tuning companies. They have forgotten the element of JDM cars (many many more cars than FM has or ever will have). They have also taken more time to simulate damage where they shouldve spent more time making a game that feels and looks real. Would you rather drive the most real looking and feeling infiniti, or would you rather drive a cartoon cut out that can crash?? Both have things one lacks, overall its whichever is best for you. Most people however, care more for graphics than for smaller things like damage. Not only are the graphics much better in GT, the car physics is also better. A g35 in GT FEELS like a G35 in real life. Oversteer/understeer. In forza however, its only broken down by Front/rear/awd...they all drive/feel the same.
