I don't think any games for the 360 support 1080p..correct me if i'm wrong. For now, i think it only benefit movies.

mostly movies, 1080p has 2x as many pixels vs 1080i, its extremely processor intensive, when you are rendering in 1080p, you can render much less polygons on screen. its not worth it usually for developers to push 1080p while making a huge sacrifice to 3d rendering performance.

Their 720p movies already take an eternity to download. I cant imagine how long its going to take to download a 1080p movie from live.

That's weird that it's worded that way, because the original 360 already does 1080i output. What was supposed to be great about the elite was the 1080p output. I'm kinda lost.

im pretty sure its capable of rendering games in 1080p, since its already capable of doing that already right now since they patched it last year.

as for as the new one goes, just being capable dosnt mean it should though since games will run much slower and thered be a lot less polygons on screen if it renders in 1080p. but developers defiently have the option to do that, I'd expect less graphically intensive games to be in 1080p, such as puzzle games, music games etc. I rather have a beautiful game rendered in 720p than a slower 1080p game with much less going on on-screen
