What vehicle will be a worthy replacement for your sedan when it is time?
Yeah. I've held out hope that I'd find a nice T2 chassis or GT-S chassis that I could put it in, but the longer I wait the fewer of those exist and the rarer parts are. Maybe I need to look at stuffing it in a Miata.
Sigh. Maybe I should sell it and move on entirely. I've got 10 more years before I can race as a hobby anyway...

The usual issue with rotarying a Miata is the engine placement - the rotary output shaft is in the middle of the engine, whereas the piston engine it's closer to the bottom. I've seen folks build shorter oil pans or go dry-sump to fix that issue, or rebuild the front subframe/engine cradle to sit lower.
Otherwise, it's a damn fine idea. My first experience with one was a very early NA Miata with twin Mikunis on a 12A motor. They took 500 pounds out of the car and added ~50HP. I've also driven some more modern setups. IMHO Mazda should have offered this as an option. Heck, the RX8 is basically a stretched coupe version of an NC miata - lots of underpinnings are the same.
(edited to correct autocorrect-added quotational plurals, which bugs the snot out of me)

Though I never did think it would see the light of day this pretty much ends the chances of the Project Black S. https://jalopnik.com/infiniti-remind...eav-1845934574
Would have been cool.

I know a few of you have been eying BMW. Just gonna leave this here:

When I started watching the video I was surprised by the first driver in glasses because he was not shifting or cornering very fast. Fortunately, the guy with the beard was a better driver. I am glad they were so excited about the car. This confirms my theory that the M2 Competition is definitely one of the best driver's cars you can buy right now and possibly the best driver's car on the market today.
Lol, no problem. I know them both in real life and am super happy they're making this YouTube thing work. Jakub (beard guy), is definitely the car guy of the two and has much more driving experience. I find their reviews really well balanced and down to earth. If you search their video history, they've reviewed most of the cars that are in this thread.

I keep going back and forth between the M2 Competition, M3, and M4. I love the way the M2 drives, but the styling is just a bit weird for me. It looks stubby and not proportional compared to the M4 and M3. The M4 is the best looking, but the M3 is no slouch either and the practicality of 4 doors is tough to beat. If I got an M3 or M4 I would probably want one with the carbon ceramic brakes just to swap out the larger rotors for cast iron 2pc. units and keep the larger 6 piston front and 4 piston rear calipers. There are definitely more M4's available with those brakes and the stick shift. Tempting.
Good feedback on the GV80, and encouraging because the crossover that genuinely captured my interest is the upcoming GV70. Hyundai has eclipsed the US manufacturers, IMO.
FCA gets a pass IMO because they're finding ways to cram that Hellcat motor into their entire lineup. I believe the minivan is due soon if it hasn't already dropped. Ridiculous but they're entertaining nonetheless.

The next generation G70 sedan should be pretty good too. I am really curious to see if Hyundai makes their mid engine sports car a Hyundai or a Genesis. That could be fun.
