I agree. I would much rather have a manual transmission, while they still exist. The Alfa Giulia Quadrifoglio and RS3 are both excellent cars, but not at the top of my list due to the transmission- just like the GT-R.
I suppose because I haven't owned a manual car yet it's not all that important to me. I just need to have the option of shifting through the gears myself like you can with G's.
I'm sure once I have a toy with a manual my opinion will change, as I yearn for a good driving experience. Which that's what everyone always says about manuals is that it's for the fun/experience and feeling more connected to the car, which is why I like the shiftable automatic.
Is that contradictory? I'm not really sure at this point lol Basically I just want to be able to control when the car shifts, which most performance oriented automatic cars have so I guess that's enough for me at the moment...? But as I mentioned that is subject to change once I do have a manual toy to hoon around in.
That's promising. My biggest concern with the Blackwing is they make tens of them and the used car market is slim pickings. This is probably the one to go for new if you can swing the cost. Likely to be a ton of M3s, Zs, and STis to choose from down the road.

Exactly. Especially with that huge options list. Looks like almost no 2 will be alike.

Positive spin: they sell tens and Cadillac heavy discounts remaining inventory to get rid of 6mt uber sedans to make room for more rebadged Chevy SUVs.
My plan was to get a toy car in 30 months and go the two car route. With this and the STi in the pipeline I might punt, splurge on a daily driver, and add a second car in 7-8 years instead of 2-3.
These CT4-V Blackwing leaks have really got me thinking that they are not changing much for the better. Hopefully, I am wrong, but it sounds like it will have a touch less power, be just as heavy, a 3D printed transmission, and probably have some new tech- I guess the suspension is supposed to react faster. I did not see anything listed for the Recaro seats or the magnesium wheels, but maybe those are in some packages. It looks like more focus is going into the larger and even heavier CT5-V Blackwing to try to compete with the M5. Funny how the same day this leak came out BMW released the fastest and most focused car they have sold to the public yet, the new M5 CS.
I am still eager to see the releases of these two new Caddys in less than a week, but I am now more interested in the new Nissan Z and Subaru STI. Who knows exactly when they will debut, but the next generation WRX is supposed to debut in April so that should give us some indication of whether or not it will look like a tarted up Corolla again. Both Nissan and Subaru have great opportunities to make big improvements in performance in these new cars, but I feel Subaru is much better equipped financially to actually do it.
Speaking of GM cars and for those of you who have an extraordinarily large piggy bank, new rumors abound about the Corvette Z06. The consistent rumor is that it will use the flat plane crank engine out of the race car so it should sound amazing and rev quite high. 600-650 hp is on tap and it sounds like it will debut in July. And just look at those exhaust tips. I think they are just trying to throw us off since the spacing seems pretty irregular on the outer tips. Probably the same with the silly hood scoop. Nice to hear they are benchmarking the Porsche 911 GT2RS. This thing should be amazing!
Not a fan of the CT4 but the CT5 looks OK and unsuspecting. Was hoping for more aggressive front facia but I guess they are not following the latest trend of being over the top with their designs.
