^^According to the dmv, a motorcycle is a vehicle . They still require taxes to be paid on such things.

Seriously, considering how much I drive the G, a 2 wheeled version might get more use. Of course it'll be a garage queen too, as days like today and the next week or two are just too cold.

Well that is pretty cool! Could the 1st guy in the video be any less excited? I wonder how much it would cost to do something like that or to get that motor to work in our cars.

It seems like most of the ATS-V's are pretty loaded, at least with Bose, leather, and heated seats - that's all I really need. I'd actually prefer one less loaded so I don't get a moonroof. I think the Ats V would require a manual though. The automatic doesn't get reviewed real well.

^^Yes, it's all in °F. You can say hell has officially froze over here. Supposed to be even colder beyond the next 7 days.

Maybe an ats-V fully loaded for about $40K would be a good deal.

I have been looking at the Chargers. But I am really starting to like the 300s with the 5.7l.
It may happen soon them later, if my G doesnt stop going into limp mode. no codes, happens about every 3 weeks. smh

Just saw that you're in Chicago too, so I bet you get a nice dose of wind with that cold.

And it'd be in 4-5 years before I got one, so if they're around 25k then, I think I'd go that route over the Golf R. I just can't see them getting that cheap when they're around 40k now.

They really don't look too shabby, but that's quite the downgrade in performance from the G, at least from a handling standpoint. I bet they're comfy as a daily though.

Jesus christ, if that's F°, eff that.
The ATS-V features you listed are all standard, except for the moonroof. On the used car market, $10,000 of options might only make the car worth $500-$1,000 more. One of the nicest things about used cars.

It's not any warmer up here. Thur, Fri, and Sat. we have windchills -25 to -35 degrees. You just don't stay outside for very long or bundle up. Fortunately, the human body handles cold better than extreme heat.

They are out there like that now and some for <$40k. Or at least in the 6spd. sedan like I am looking for. Just not very many of them out there in any configuration.

On a car that starts @ $50K. And lets not forget throwing out most of the powertrain warranty. So, you're looking at $60K+.

BMW M4 starts at ~$69K.

Man everyone is such a debbie downer when it comes to the new supra. Just history repeating itself.

its so easy for everyone to talk negative about it.

Im still looking at this car from a used car perspective 5 years down the road . I don't plan on buying new for $50k.

just like how many of you are looking at used ATS-V, M3, Golf Rs, etc.

plus in 5 years aftermarket will be abundant for it. Seems like I'm the only one on this board that sees potential in this car. Whereas everyone else just complains of the same 2 things

"it's a bmw drivetrain"
"no manual"

I've had an mk3 supra for about half my life now, been around that scene for a long time. I get that it gets annoying hearing all the complaints, but what Toyota has done is IMO a travesty. I'd rather have NO supra than a Supra with a BMW engine in it. Toyota made basically the best engines in the 80's and 90's, and now they can't even make their own? It's an insulting joke. The same goes for the FRS, that should have been a even more modern Beams style 3SGTE or something. Instead its a boring Subaru motor that's not nearly as legendary or full of potential as engines from 20 years ago.

Why do you think I own a Nissan now?

Using my G37 for reference, Lets say it depreciates 50% in those 5 years (My 2012 G37 went from 42k to 22k when I bought it in 2017). Now it's worth $25-30k. Are you really going to sink 1/2 to 1/3 of the overall price of the car into a transmission swap before even beginning to modify the car?

The new Supra is poop dude. Toyota didn't learn from Acura and should have never used the 'Supra' designation. Even if it's underrated from factory, that car is going to have a stigma about it and carry the Supra 'tax' on all of its parts simply due to its name sake.

In 5 years, this car won't even be on your radar.

Using BMW's I6 to power your halo car is about the equivalent of letting another man bed your wife because you don't do that particular position anymore...
