I have the Z1 undershroud, so full removal is a PITA. Infiniti removed it when they performed the transmission fluid exchange (uses the trannie cooling line ingress/egress into the radiator) and they put it back together wrong. I will take this task on over the holidays as I'd like to pull that cover off once a year anyway and take a look at the condition of things underneath.

No need to remove the splash shield to install the fogs. You just reach in between the fender liner and bumper cover.

Morimotos have plastic lenses vs glass correct?
I am using Lamin-X film, relatively easy to install and 12 bucks on amazon.

Pretty sure I used Oracal window tint. A 12"x24" sheet is $10 on Amazon.

With the fogs in my hands, I heated and stretched the vinyl over the lens, then applied a tight band of outdoor tape around the circumference. With the fog rings clipped into place, it looks totally OEM.

I don't recall if the Morimoto has a plastic or glass lens. I think glass. Here's a pic:

It wasn't today, but last week I received new taillights and installed them. So many choices for tail, turn, and brake lights, I still have not decided! Here are some pics, but a still image will never do these justice.

To see them in action, here is a link to the video my daughter and I made...

That's amazing! I love the throwing-star look. And that whole rotating gear thing... wow! Where in the world did you get those?

So you can pick and choose whatever you want for tail, brake and turn? I'm assuming it's all traffic-law OK, right? I mean, the Mustang has been animating turn signal behavior for years.

$20 on Amazon:
Amazon Amazon

You failed to account for the decade's worth of inflation which has occurred in the past 3 years

There is a "SAVE15" coupon one can use on the Lamin-X site, so you can actually buy there for less and have more options WRT to colors.

Those are kinda fun, especially now that the holidays are upon us. They would be a bit distracting to the people behind you. Are they legal? I love that your daughter is working on this project with you.

I got them from yuniqueled.com. They will be doing my headlights in 2025.

Correct, you can choose different patters. The park lights and brake lights do not have an animation, you just choose a pattern, but you can turn off/on a fast blink when the brakes are first applied. For the turn signals, there are something like 50+ animations. They can be static, or sequential. And of course, it has "show mode" that will cycle (or not) through all the different animations, even some you can't really pick from in regular mode.

There is even an animation that looks like a snowflake! Perfectly legal if you don't do show mode while you are driving.... Also, if show mode is on and the brake or turn signal is engaged, show mode turns off automatically.

She's is my youngest and will be 19 next month. Not sure where all the time went.

Here's a video showing my current settings. It goes:
- Brake
- Tail
- Turn
- Brake
- Then it goes into a few show mode animations that I changed quickly to get to the snowflake...

Familiar with the slight mismatch between the tail light lens and the reverse light lens. So expecting the difference to be observable in-person, but I’m also kinda thinking that buying the full set together has a sliver of promise that things match?

If they don’t, I’ll be able to live with it

Heck yes, let us know how it turns out!

Do they not have an option for new headlight lenses?

Yes! They can get new lenses (the plastic cover "lens") and they can also do the STI lens upgrade (etched if you want).

In the trunk corners, are those backup light pieces also custom? Looks like a LED panel instead of the OEM bulb.

Always observant. They are indeed LED panels and are crazy bright! They came with the JDM retrofitted tails I got off eBay. I am considering having them opened to paint the housing black to match the tails better. And mayyyyybe to add a fast "turn on animation". We will see.

So you bought a set of tails on eBay, then sent them off to this LED custom shop, and the set you bought on eBay came with a LED panel for the backup light in the inner pieces... is that right?

Is that "JDM Stance" on eBay?

I wonder if they sell those backup pieces all by themselves?
