I've always made it my life long challenge to find something new to open a beer with.
The VHR so far is the best at opening them

Thanks, I grabbed the halos back in May and they were low stock then. I have been waiting for a clear weekend to do the mod and luckily I had everything done in roughly 2 days. It has me entertaining the idea of opening the headlights to modify them.

Diving in to Gallery Gasket repair, a story of starts and stops

Not techincally all today, but I did get a little time working on my wife's 09 g37 sedan. Combo of working too many hours at work, having a 5 yo, and giving my wife my Tundra to drive while her car is out of commision is a recipe for procrastinating. Quick question while removing all(maybe) the bolts for the front engine cover, do the cam covers (circled in red) have to be removed or can they stay on the engine cover? Some how i got it in my head that those bolts don't hold the engine cover on just the covers for the cams. Gave the cover a few taps with a deadblow hammer but figured I might need to poll the collective.
Thanks Josh

Do the bolts from these covers have to come out to remove main engine cover?

They dont have to come out.

At the same time this gasket just like many will leak over time so it will leak over time.

Well you can't argue with that logic because you can't argue with that logic.

Thanks, given how far I am tearing this down I will likely replace those gaskets as well but just wanted to check before I try more persuasion to release/split the cover. from the engine. Thanks

We'll have to meet one day. Now that I re-read the comment, it is pure gold.

All brake lights illuminated.

I'm really liking it, what are y'alls thoughts?
The lights came out really nice. Harmonizes with the rear body lines.
Just wondering, It looks like your running the staggered 19" G35 Rays. They look very nice. What are your tire specs for front and rear? and are you running any spacers?

Thanks

Now that they sell just the plastic headlight covers, I'm tempted to pop my lights open again.

Who? Where? I knew they sold the covers for the Z, never saw them for the G, though. (Admittedly, haven't looked in quite a while, however)

I appreciate it!

Wheel/Tire specs are a square set of G35 Rears 19"x 8.5" +33 with 255/40/19 Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 tires. I'm using a 10mm spacer in the front and a 5 in the rear. Added extended studs front and rear to accommodate the spacers.

Just search up G37 headlight cover on aliexpress, its all over the place. Bunch on eBay too. And yes, this is very recent, I have been looking for these for a long time when building my headlights, so this is as recent as a year and a half when I last revisited it.
Aliexpress links dont work properly for some reason.

That's neat, I wonder how these lenses will hold up with time.
