My only "track" with the G were two auto-x events, one year after the other, and that was years ago after I bought the car.
I can't speak to a course track situation, but in Auto-x you absolutely have to turn off TC if you want to bring in the shorter times. It makes quite a difference.
Interesting...I could see that, with the different driving dynamics and all...I have never done auto x in this car...closest I got was I went to one once and saw a Miata eat it into a ditch on the hairpin about 30 feet in front of me and I thought this giant boat wont have a chance the way the course was set up...my friends assured me it never happens though but I completely lost my nerve to do it in the G...

lol, I would have agreed with you if I still lived in California, but you learn to live with reigning in the performance aspects of a car when it snows from November to April...
Just for clarification, I mean a 1-2 minute course laid out with cones in a giant parking lot. I've never been to a bonafide course track, like Watkins Glen. Love to someday, tho.
I know numbers are goofy, but TC off on a 2-minute track meant nearly 10 seconds gain. That was a repeatable scenario... it really made that much of a difference. Also, it was the advice of everyone there, including the ride-along coaches, that once you get comfortable with the track, turn TC off.
On the street, if you think you're going to try and oversteer into a turn, and you don't turn TC off, then you're going to look like an idiot. And even if you do it right, most people will think you're an idiot anyway, LOL. Same goes for the launch from a standing start. If you don't turn TC off, it just isn't the same.

Oh, yeah I got what you meant...the Miata incident I described was one such parking lot..the tiny "course" size and the size of the G in such a small space is what gave me pause...don't get me wrong, I'd try it in a bigger parking lot with way more runoff room...as for the street...although my wife says I drive like a Grandma especially with the baby in the car...when I'm in the car alone.... I get what you mean on oversteer...especially with sticky rubber like the PSS..on my winters it makes less of a difference than the LSD (God I love the LSD...I'll never go back to an open diff)...

The funniest thing about that day was when I drove in it was fine, and at the end of the day it was fine, but when it started coming down my whole office panicked and left at the same time. Had I just stayed at work I could have avoided it all. I'm sure next time I'll stay and get stranded at work.

I'm originally from NE Ohio, so coming from lake effect snow, I too was baffled by peoples inability to drive in a dusting of snow.
That was a weird snowstorm in that it didn't hit overnight as expected, and instead hit around 8. School had been called off the day before, so I was already stuck.
Being stranded at work vs being stuck in the house with a 4 and 6 year old for 3 days. Tough call

You make a very valid point, Hashim. I don't even drive my G in the rain so I don't have much need for the traction control. Plus, with my car being super charged I can't even enter the highway at full throttle without the traction control kicking in a killing power. It's a real bummer when your trying to out accelerate some one getting on the freeway going 60 or even 70+ MPH and your TC kills your power. I'm sure I've been laughed at more than once when this has happened to me.

I know exactly how you feel, Lego. It's been raining her on and off for the past day and just trying to get home from the office yesterday was a real adventure... Took me over an hour for a drive that typically takes 15 minutes. And that was only a drizzle. If it starts pouring down rain out here people will actually stay home. LOL

Cleveland Heights, lived in Akron for a while though. Been in CLT for a long time. Never understood the bread and milk thing. 2 things most likely to go bad if power is out... lol! I understand Bourbon and Steak though!
Picked up the93owners old wheels last week and finally installed them today. Had to get open-face lug nuts because I have extended lugs for my H&R spacers on my old wheels. I need to find some caps or something for them now.
