I'm leaning towards the 20" Rennen CSL 4 Mesh Silver Machine Wheels. Thinking of a staggered set up 20x9 upfront , 20x10 rear.


Im waiting to find out the offset on these , not listed anywhere that i can see. I was also considering Tien street basis coilovers , SPC rear camber kit and toe bolts.

Do you think a front camber kit is necessary?

I've been reading up a lot on the offset/spacer/tire selection concept. Still escapes me a bit but I think a bit more reserach on here will get me squared away.

 

Here's a similar wheel by Rohanna w/ a 9+32 front 10+45 rear, those would be offsets to shoot for w/ those Rennen wheels, anything less positive will start to poke outside the fender edge. And you could run 245/35 front 285/30 rear tires.

LOVE that wheel, but you will definitely have your work cut out keeping that inner lip and bolts clean. But it will look really good on the car

 

This is a genuine issue. There are no less than 12 narrow spaces where you can reach in and clean the lip, and half of those look like knuckle crushers. Add to that 40 some odd, beautiful, wheel bolts which aren't going to remain nice for very long without constant attention. Could be a big committment on a daily driver.

Not that there's anything wrong with that. Worth the effort maybe.

If you're sincere, sure, why not? If it makes you happy, and the rationale doesn't involve a compromise in the relationship. You could set a budget together for the project, and include her in selecting a design, make/model wheel.

Or just buy what you want, when you want, for as much as you want.

I love my Vossens, but have regrets about how difficult they are to maintain to an acceptable level of upkeep, even though they're a relatively accommodating design. And that's on a low mileage car where the wheels come off in the winter.

Front Brakes installed and fluid flushed. The old pads had around 50%, who knew. Got some slotted rotors wish I had the Z1 2 piece, they are on sale today, but still $300 more than what I paid for the hawks. Perhaps when she hits 250k I will get them.

 

Have rotors/pads and spark plugs on order. Figured I'd do the plugs when I clean the throttle bodies.

Was thinking about getting sways as a Christmas gift to myself, but can't make up my mind between Eibach and Hotchkis. Can get Eibach for $320 and Hotchkis for $350. I do like the adjustability of the Eibach fronts.

Someone convince me why I should go with Hotchkis, as this seems the popular choice.

 

Both will do the job and are well-priced, IMO. But don't the Hotchkis brackets come with zerk fittings to make re-greasing easier? If that's the case, then there's your push, Entcee. If not, flip a coin, or choose one for the color. Eibach Red is kind of cool to see... when you can see it.

 

Haha, I actually like the Hotchkis color better. ​​​​​I'll have to look into the fittings.

The Hotchkis adds a lot more stiffness up front, and a little for the rear. The Eibach is not as stiff for the front, but more stiff for the rear.
