Nice! Any pics of the entire job? How hard was it to remove everything that you took out?

I really want to do this too. So many annoying rattles coming from the rear/trunk area.

i dont have pics of the entire job, as it took a while to dynamat everything, i wasnt worried about pics. Everything comes off easy, and goes back on easy. it takes a while to lay the dynamat though.

Started some winter prep stuff, Cleaned and oiled air filters, checked fluids, got the winter gear loaded into the trunk, Removed the hood liner, and some light engine bay detailing... Tried out a couple of products from chemical guys, all of which were pretty legit:

Silk Shine Dressing Gives the perfect amount of sheen to the tires, not too shiny, also nice for interior/dashboard, water based and non-sticky
Leather scent air freshener - actually smells like fresh leather, We will see how long it lasts...
Black on Black - Works wonders on plastics in the engine bay...

Installed the Cusco FTSB after painting the end brackets. I also removed the hood liner. I really need an intake now.

I purchased the vinyl to black out the window trim but haven't done it yet. This pic is screaming at me to do it soon.

I also broke down and bought the tail as turn module.

So much for stockpiling parts for winter.

Other than making room for a FTSB (which most fit anyway), what is the purpose of removing the hood liner? Looks? Sound?

I have read that the Cusco rubs on the edges. I didn't want to take the chance. I may add an aftermarket (dynamat) one down the road.

Hmm, I have the Cusco too and it seems to fit fine. What's the concern with it rubbing?

Really I'm just looking for any excuse to do something to my car lol.

So have you noticed more engine noise? If so is it a good or bad increase in noise?

I'll have to get back to you on that one. I haven't driven it but a few miles since I removed it. But I haven't noticed any difference.

It is very easy to remove and if you're careful with it you can put it back on just as easy.

I know some members have had issues with the hood liner rubbing on the FSTB and causing imperfections in the finish.

I removed my hood liner this last weekend, I've noticed a very slight (but welcome) increase in intake noise when you get on the gas. I also personally find it to be a cleaner look with the liner removed.

No so much if you have a loud exhaust. Otherwise, yes, but just a bit.

Hit it on the head here! Ive owned my Cusco FTSB for years now, when 1st installed it did not rub, as I needed to remove and adjust for certain things over the years, never got it back perfect like before andit rubbed some. Took liner off, and as mentioned...looks so much cleaner, no rubbing being my main benefactor, and then you can hear slightly more intake which is hard for me with my exhaust setup....
