Yes they were OEM originals with high mileage. The more I try to think about it. I think I saw a real 2-3mpg increase maybe even 4. The old set was surely on it's way out.
Anyone want to buy my sedan 6MT? There's a fair chance I'll be selling it within the next year or two. Yeah, I know I've gone back and forth a hundred times about selling it. I'm just not satisfied with it right now because of the sloppy stock drivetrain (heavy dual-mass flywheel, 3.69 gears) and I'm very hesitant to go through with spending thousands of dollars on my next batch of mods versus just selling the car and getting an actual sports car. The next, and most likely final batch of mods would be: z1 headers v2, 4.10 gears, stage 2 clutch, 14lb flywheel, CMAK, and a retune with the potential of E85 and a flex fuel kit. Not going to be cheap.. and I don't want to separate the install in stages because I don't have a mechanic nearby that can do this work. I'll probably just take it to z1 or some reputable shop, which would mean a road trip.
I have had previous cars that I've done a final drive swap and lightweight flywheel and it was one of my favorite mods, but I have this feeling like I'll just be throwing money away if the possibility remains to replace the G anyway. Basically, I'm at a standstill on the car and it's eating at me to just get rid of it so I can stop being bothered with it. The G is an awesome car, I just feel the itch to start a new modding journey on something that's actually a "sports car" from the ground up. At the end of the day, the G will always be just a sporty luxury sedan.
Just ignore my rambling if you wish, because I'll probably change my mind again tomorrow Sometimes it's just nice to put my current thoughts into writing lol. Maybe part of it is just because I love cars in general and I want to experience something different, which I understand is not such a bad thing. If I had the resources for it, I'd love to keep the G forever and get a third vehicle.
So now that it's booked I wanted to share: My wife who apparently DOES remember who I am and what I like rented a track-prepped Mini Cooper for me for the Nurburgring in June <happy dance>
Background: my job gives us a month-long sabbatical every 5 years to keep us from murdering our clients and/or other people. We're doing a mini-Grand Tour in Europe.
So the Ring: one lap with an instructor, which I've never had on the 'Ring before, and then a few with me and my daughter. Helmets, roll cage, fire system, upgrades brakes and suspension etc to make it fun but safe. Three laps is like 35 miles of track time, I'll be wiped the F out after LOL.
I'm waffling on the Lamborghini museum in Bologna. We'll be nearby but the taxi ride is an hour and a few hundred $. The girls are going to a gelato museum LOL. I do think we're set to go to the BMW Museum in Munich as a group. And... outside the Ring itself - we're hitting one or possibly both of the Technic Museums in Sinsheim/Speyer (https://speyer.technik-museum.de/en/, you can find them easily enough in Google). Been once before and those museums are NUTS.
So.. just gritting my teeth at work until we leave in early June. I need out of here for a bit.

I go back and forth like this all the time as well. Love cars and I'm not getting any younger. Smallish coupes are of no interest (exception, Nismo 370Z, which isn't small really), RWD only non Korean or European, No EV interest. I've boxed myself into a spot where there's 1-2 cars that may fit the ticket. As such, moving to a newer car isn't an option today. All of the used car options that interest me are as old or older as my current car. Oscillating. Time for another mod.
The Challenger and Charger are enormous as well. Daytona is being marketed as an Electric Muscle Car (Oxymoron). What do they cost?
The 2025 Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack, with all-wheel drive, has a base MSRP of $73,190 and up to 79680 bucks with additional options. The 2025 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 has a starting MSRP of $96,666, excluding freight, taxes, fees, and other charges. However, some reports indicate that the actual price for the 2025 Demon could be around $110,000 dollars.

Same, brother. Same.
As much as I'm loathe to give up the manual, I think my next, should I actually need to get one, will be automagic. The Audi 8-speed transmissions seem to shift about where I want them, as did the GT-R that I hooned around a track.
Local dealer had a RS6 Avant in for service last time I took the wife's Q5 in... Oh My God. 600ish HP, AWD, wagon, aggressive as hell stock. That's giggle-worthy. And, sadly, about $140K used.
Love the seats and exhaust tips on that Skyline 400R.
Agree. Even like that more elegant touches added to the grill and front fascia. Is the new 400R (there is an older one as well) just a Q50 base model with a different shell? VR30, Open Diff, Numb electric steering?

They didn’t have the spec sheet available, but I believe it’s equivalent to the Q50 Redsport Black Opal edition
What kind of a price are you looking to get for it ?

Mine are attached to lanyards and thus hang around my neck when in use. I don't think the G fob has ever been "in my pocket."
To be frank I don't carry any metal keys at all. The exception being my old pickup which gets annoying at times. How spolled I've become
