Looks like CZP knocked 25% off the ARK catback if anyone has been on the fence: https://conceptzperformance.com/ark-...36_p_15754.php

Individual button replacement on HVAC controls

Happy Friday. Question. Do any of you know if the individual buttons can be replaced on the HVAC controller. The finish is wearing from one of the “F”s on OFF, and I’m contemplating whether or not to repair again, or just replace.

Took the wife to the auto show this morning. Saw and sat in the new Z... meh. And the new Dodge Charger... yuck. Both were a huge disappointment.

Liked the little Volvo EX30 a lot. Also liked the Mini Countryman. Loved the VW ID.buzz. and my wife really liked the Acura RDX.

The RDX was on our short list for my wife's car. Tech was a bit behind and the driving was uninspiring... and with the $$$ the same as the Q5 we went with that.

Looked darn nice tho.

PM me a picture of the button you need. I have some spare panels and might can help out.

What are you thoughts on the new Z? Familiar, yet uninspiring?

Hi Mike.

Are these buttons easy to remove? I looked at used panels on eBay and most look tired and beat up, so I was hesitant to look for a used one as I doubt I can find one in the same shape as mine. New panels are $1100.

The off button on the HVAC controller is the one that's fried (shown in the pic). Essentially, once these buttons develop a small chip, the paint just wipes off as the manufacture doesn't use the correct curing process for the finish (my interior guy explained this to me, he can refinish and supply a clear coat to all the buttons to prevent future damage)

Exactly right. Familiar, yet uninspiring. In person, all the little retro design elements seemed unimaginative and unconvincing. And the overall dimensions were just really tiny, inside and out. I fell into the driver's seat and was jammed in there, and then I had to climb my old bones out of it. Ugh. And the interior was not a welcoming place. It was really disappointing, after all the hype.

I had a similar reaction to the new Dodge Charger EV. While the front spoiler was super clever, and both the front & rear ends were appealing, overall this car is freaking huge. Too huge to be a 2-door. And the interior was dull as a piece of coal. Again, after all the hype, seeing one in person was really a let-down. There's no way no how that this is a car worth north of $60k. It makes no sense to me.

So funny. I felt the same way about both cars. I wanted to like the Z soooo bad, but I felt like I was being fitted for a coffin. Externally, it looks like there would be alot more room inside. The Clutch is also in an odd place. I guess I could get used to it, but it doesn't feel natural. I kept asking myself why would I buy this over a 2-3 year old CPO Redsport, which would come in 20K cheaper and essentially use all the same components, be just as quick and also 3x more comfortable. Would lack the 6MT though....

The Charger is 80 inches wide! That's an inch wider than most full size SUVs and more than 10 inches wider than our cars - it's a catamaran. Sucker wouldn't even fit in my third car garage.

What are your thoughts on the GR86? I like it, but the only people I see driving them (and the Ford Bronco) are my age, which is actually a turn off to me as it signals a MLC. Slow as well. I really want to avoid going backwards.

Although I preferred the first gen design, I would certainly take the current drivetrain over the first one. But like you said, it's still a step backwards in power and presence as compared to the G.

Not that power is everything... I expect it's a blast to drive. But something about the twins makes me think they are too cheap and thin to be rewarding throughout the years. At the end of the day, I really respect the GR86 & BRZ, but don't want one in my life. If I were 28 again, then heck yes I'd want one.

Which isn't a surprise. When I was 28, I bought a brand new 1992 240SX Coupe 5MT.

I miss being in this forum and joining in the discussions, but once again I find myself working a contract job that limits my "free internet time" during the day. At night I'm back to working in the garage and neglecting the G. However I installed some newer coil packs Thank you @Krzysztof47 !

Now I'm seeing fuel mileage that I haven't seen in years, ignore the warning light - it's for TPMS and I don't have that installed on this set of wheels.

lol, thats crazy mpg. Im only able to get that when I reset my meter and drive like a grandma on a country road. As soon as I hit the city, 8.7 L/.100km turns into 12-13 L/100km (18mpg)... but lets face it, the car hasnt been out of sport mode in 10 years lol, and when I do drive it, I drive it.

The forum is still here. Not nearly with the vitality it once had, but it's still motoring along. Welcome back, @FrogmanKouki .

Seriously. I didn't think coil packs could help improve mileage. Were there any noticeable issues with the ones you replaced? OEM originals right?
