Today it's about 1" snow, with 2-3" ice underneath. Dangerous for sure in a state with no experience driving on this.
But yeah, from my days in DE and MD this is just a pretty dusting.
No school/government for us until Monday. No plows and no salt = wait and hope for the best. Not the greatest DOT policy but it's what we have. I'm sure @ILM-NC G37S feels the same - NC coastal isn't much different.
Be thankful that its only snow and not 70-80mph winds coming off the desert floor and using the Sierras as a wind based eductor riding the inland coast.
The power company keeps turning the power off for long periods of time (last time was >24 hours) to prevent active transmission lines from tearing lose and starting fires.
Felt third world crammed in Starbucks earlier this week with a bunch of people working and looking for a power outlet.
Pacific Palisades is burnt to the ground. Looks like Armageddon. Makes one appreciate how fragile life can be...

I grew up the first 20 or so years of my life in MD/VA.
I always laugh when I hear native west coasters complain about the lack of a "change of seasons" and how they'd love to see more snow fall.

Here in CA we feel left out of major weather anomalies, so the local news likes to dramatize things like heavy rain and label it a "bomb cyclone with tornadic winds".
I lived in Dallas for a few years, and even the best that our friends the Santa Anas can throw at us don't match the devastating winds that whip through the plains of tornado alley in April.
My largest weather related stresses these days are turning on the wipers for the first time in 6 months to realize they are dry rotted and need to be replaced, or, that slippery jerking feel of summer performance tires when it's below 45 degrees in the morning before the sun comes up.

Correct. And our geography presents a challenge as well since most of the population in the state lives along the western foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mtns.
You rarely see power lines near populated areas as many of them are pushed into canyons and rural areas, which of course means that heavy winds (and even Mylar balloons) are an issue because if they are torn loose, wildfires are eminent.
17 years ago we had our basement renovated from a dank and creepy basement into a living room, and a laundry room, etc. Over the years the space has been both active and abandoned. Sometimes it's filled to the walls with junk as our kids moved back and forth from college, and sometimes one of us rediscovers the room and it becomes a hang out again. Anyway, I installed a soft-tip dart board over the holidays, and reclaimed the area for the living.
I thought this pic was neat because my Vossens share the same space. Right underneath that 20 year old TV, LOL.

Thanks, socket. I take good care of them. 12 years old now, with maybe 40k miles on the road, I clean and wax them over the winter. Very proud of these wheels. Still 2 months away from putting them back on the car.

Hit the 1-year mark for the exhaust upgrade. It has made such a major difference to the driving experience for me (shifting at much higher RPM tho, so MPG has taken a notable dive). Really the only performance upgrade I’ve done, so relatively stock against most G’s here.
Curious about anyone who has added HFC to an aftermarket exhaust. What were your major considerations for picking one? What were the main differences once installed?
(don’t want to go the test pipe route, due to smell, rasp and emissions testing)

I went with Fast Intentions RHFC because I wanted the cats resonated, for fear that most aftermarket cats come with some measure of rasp. Also, the FI design uses a J-shaped extension for the O2 sensors, and everything I'd researched lead me to believe that would spoof the sensors the best. It's been a decade, and no CEL ever because of the exhaust. The RHFC was expensive, but zero regrets. Matched up with the FI catback and 18" resonators in-line, the car still sounds amazing.
However, once installed I freaked out about the lack of a support bracket in the FI design, so my old mechanic MacGyvered the heck out of it.
From your pic, it appears that you don't have any mufflers? So I'd 100% get resonated HFCs instead of test pipes because it will sound terrible without those resonators. There's not much to consider because there's only two brands that I know of that make them: FI and AAM. (I have AAM)
And the power gains are just as good, if not better than a catback most of the time.

Thanks, went back to your RHFC review (10 yrs old) which was useful as always. Forgot you installed yours on an otherwise stock exhaust. Guess I’m going the reverse way. Should’ve prob just done it all is one fell swoop.
Any photos of the adjustment your mechanic made for the FI solution?

Instead of mufflers, there are Helmholtz resonators off to each side (just wanted to type Helmholtz).
Def no TPs for me, due to emissions testing and adversity to rasp (also heard they stink up the car).
