Sedan Chat Thread
My group received the public copy a few weeks back and we've been doing some stress testing. The OS is more secure than 7 & 8 and Windows finally did something right. I migrated all my systems in a lab with Windows 10 and the users are impressed.
Albeit, I'm still not convinced. I've been an avid Mac user since the original eMac in 2003. Since then, I've had the original iMac in clear orange, Powerbook G3, Blackbook 13" (black macbook from 2007), Macbook Pro 15" from 2009, Mac Mini Server from 2011. Now I'm left with a 27" iMac for development and Macbook Pro. Have to say, I'm a bit of a fanboy.
Also I picked up a few of those new Mac Servers for some work projects. Boy are those things cool.
Enough of a techno-geek side bar, as I'm sure I could go all day with Rochester, lol...
If anyone is interested in attending the 2015 Sedan Meet in central PA, Saturday August 29, please PM me for details. Let's make it a fun event.

Speaking of Windows 10, I've got plans to spin up a VM with it and check it out. It seems to resolve many of the sins of Windows 8/8.1. My question is what happened to Windows 9??
Would be nice if my Amsoil filters had that. Also, only used the 5 quarts and didn't add the .2 since the line was near full. Going to monitor overtime to see if I'm in fact burning oil but a part of me thinks it had more to do with me using extended performance this time instead of the traditional mobil one grade oil.
What's the latest & greatest in tire dressing these days? Been a while since I bought some, wondering if there's a new, popular product. Used Stoner More Shine for a while, but the consistency and finish weren't the best. Looking for a deep black look without much shine.
Not a particularly wide hole, but nothing you have to be gentle with either.
... Removing it can be messy, even after fully draining the plug, so I don't see how going through that flap helps. Seems to me it would make even more of a mess than otherwise. Ditto on the drain plug.
LOLOLOL... I just fast forwarded to the point where he made a mess. Priceless. That guy's an idiot. "Lefty loosy, righty tighty" hahaha

I needed that today. Those flaps are functionally a horrible design. It's obvious why it may have not made it through Beta testing.

I've seen a youtube video that shows the front few bolts removed then the cover bent at the seam to get access to the filter/drain plug. Too much hassle and more potential for a bigger mess.
With the lower engine cover removed, it's a good idea to check the underside of the engine for any leaks - oil or coolant.
I usually remove the filter first. The other way around it has a nasty habit of making a splash in the drain pan.
Edit: Using a 1/2" ratchet is fine for removal, but use a regular wrench for reinstallation.

Judging by your picture it looks like you do have one. Just remove those 4 bolts towards the end of it and push it down. You'll probably need something to keep it back (I used a cement block) as it tends to get in the way otherwise.
and how dare you infer I might be driving something other than a manual...........LOL.

No, I'm not actually joking. There's no 4-bolt flap of any kind in my lower engine panel. Nor is there a big square hole. Just isn't, man.
Weird.
Um-m
Weird.

Oh man, just watched the video and nope, I don't have that either. Even if I did, I dunno if I would use that magic door or just do it the way I've been doing it. Now I see where I was mistaken with Johns post.
Um wait. I had to read that out loud to make sure it made sense. All good.

I was under my wife's CRV just now with the tin-snips, removing what was left of the rotted heat shield. And now I have little pieces of rust in my hair, or what's left of my hair, LOL.

Oh my god... I'm flapless. Why I no haz flap?
