Q50 Eau Rouge
On the flip side, "long periods of time" and German cars *still* dont seem to get along well with each other. I know Mercedes is making great strides, but lets see how the new C class is holding up years from now, after the warranty has expired.
As far as the interior goes.....well, the nav screen on the upcoming C class makes it look hideous. Oddly enough, I noticed in the new Mazda 3 commercials, they have the same "tacked on" look to their nav screen. Maybe its the future, maybe they cheaped out, I dont know. I DO know Im not a fan.
And comparing the CL-A to the Q50 is NOT apples to apples. AFAIK the CL-A is a true compact car. Like Acura ILX/Honda Civic size. Obviously the Q50 is not. So pricing comparisons are thrown out the door since its not a fair comparison.

Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge gets the heart of a GT-R
The latest evolution of the Eau Rouge packs the same 3.8-liter, twin turbocharged V6 found in the GT-R but with a unique tune of 560 horsepower and 443 pound-feet (600 Newton-meters) of torque. That makes it 15 hp more powerful than the standard 2015 GT-R but gives up 20 lb-ft of torque. Power gets to the ground through the GT-R's all-wheel-drive system. Infiniti predicts that the Eau Rouge would sprint to 60 miles per hour in less than 4 seconds and on to a top speed of 180 mph.
According to Infiniti Communications Senior Manager Kyle Bazemore in an email to Autoblog, the modded GT-R powertrain was not the only choice for the Eau Rouge. It also considered "developing a high-power sports diesel" and hybrid versions with an electric supercharger. However, "this was the clear solution for this concept car," Bazemore said. Other than the drivetrain, the Eau Rouge in Switzerland is identical to the one shown in Detroit. Sadly, it is not confirmed for production; so we might not be getting the fabled Infiniti GT-R sedan any time soon. Still, we can hope.
In addition to the Eau Rouge, Infiniti is also adding a new entry-level Q50 that is launching first in Europe and China. It is powered by a 2.0-liter, turbocharged, petrol four-cylinder with 211 hp and 236 lb-ft (320 Nm) of torque and a seven-speed automatic. There is a chance the powerplant could also arrive in US models later as a less expensive, more economical option to the car's standard V6. Scroll down to read the full press release on both models and listen to the Eau Rouge start up.

Well it looks like a lot of people were wrong about this concept, including me. Great job Infiniti. If it were to make it to production with that power train it would most certainly price it out of my range. But kudos for going ***** to the wall on the concept. Now if it could just make it to the production line with most of the good stuff kept intact and a different (less expensive) power plant I'll be in line.
I think the 2.0 l turbo 4 might be a popular option because of tuning potential. I hope it makes it here as a less expensive and powerful option that would help sell more cars.

I told you so? Hahaha. I'm just worried that the price is going to be even higher than what I predicted before... When stating +500hp +600tq, I didn't think the torque figure would be in Nm though. That's kind of disappointing.
Then buy a GTR, the Q50ER wouldn't be for you. Just like you wouldn't cross-shop a Range Rover Autobiography with a C63 Black Series... but they're the same price. But if you're looking for a 4-door supercar, your options are the likes of the E63, M5, Panamera, and here's the breakdown
At $90k fully loaded Q50ER would actually be a bargain. A well equipped M5 is around $105k, and the same goes for the E63. The Porsche, we all know, is in a different league with it comes to pricing. Moderately equipped you're looking closer to $110k. Now, if you think I'm really insane, possibly because I'm comparing it to the wrong car class (I should be looking at the C63, M3, ISF), check this out.
If the Q50ER really does have a 550hp engine, which would pretty much mean something exactly like the GTR. Why? Because they all nearly weigh the same.
GTR - 3829lbs
Q50S AWD - 3849lbs
Q50S hybrid AWD - 4145lbs
If they just did a drivetrain swap, the weights wouldn't change all that much (I would actually think they would go down). So pretty much, you're talking GTR performance for $90k. The C63, M3, ISF crowd is no comparison to a GTR; heck, even E63/M5 can't hang with a GTR. So sure, it's a bit more expensive than these cars, but it's also delivering something significantly above them too.
The GTR is the "bargain" supercar because it can keep up with the likes of Porsche and Ferrari at half the price. The Q50ER may be the bargain supersedan if it can keep up with something like a Panamera Turbo at half the price.
- M5 - $92,500
- E63 - $92,770
- Panamera S - $93,200
- Q50 Eau Rouge - starting around $75,500, fully loaded at $90,000*

And yes, it looks like they aren't playing around so the sticker shock will probably be pretty intense. Now that the car is truly as badass as people seem to be clamoring for, cue the complaints that it's priced way too high.
Probably the only Q I would trade my G for, hell I can even keep my ridiculously punny vanity plate theme. RG37S --> Q50ERG3. If they do release it *gulp* I'll eat ramen for a year if I have to, in order to afford this behemoth.
You called it. However, keep in mind that this is still the concept, not a production model. Remember the JDN said that the car will not share the exact same engine as the GTR but that it will be produced in the same plant. Maybe GTR power plant for the concept, but different engine in the production version?

For people who dont like it, there will always be plenty of things to complain about that it doesn't have or that it does have. Even cars that are near perfect in most gearheads' minds all have a vocal group of haters. Like most of the Infiniti haters I read comments from on places like Jalopnik are guys who are driving used $25K cars and picking apart cars that cost 2 or 3 times as much and saying why they wouldn't buy them. As if a manufacturer would build a car based on the opinion of people that never could or would buy them.
