My traction control light is much less active with the wider tires, and I can no longer bark the rears on 2-3 shifts

Exactly the same with me. I suspect PSS have as much to do with that as the wider tires do. I noticed a similar (although less prominent) behavior for the one year I had PSS on the duckfeet.

When the day comes that I swap 4.083 rear gears (soon, knock on wood), I'm counting on this added grip to come into play, because I suspect it's going to be needed.

Hey guys, getting my coupe 19s powdercoated in about 2 weeks. I was going to keep the hypersilver but I was wondering if anyone had any other suggestions for other silver finishes. I always liked liked the polished looked and I want contrast from the black car so anything really light like a polished look would be cool. Just looking for any suggestions.

What about silver with a machines lip and spokes? Sort of like the 335i luxury line wheels?

Btw someone asked me to post this a while ago but I got busy at work as usual. 19" square all around, swifts,20mm spacers all around and camber kit on the back. I will re finish the wheels next week and fix the cars paint the week after but unfortunately we decided we will not keep it when we move to Brooklyn.

Thinking of running spacers on my Coupe wheels. Any idea on what width? 5 or 10?

I've got 5s on the back and 15s on the front. It's not enough with the 5s and too much with 15s. I'm putting a 5mm kit on the front tomorrow (probably) to see how that looks. If 5mm up front looks good I'll keep it and get 10s for the back, or if 5 isn't enough up front I'll get 10s all around. If you're replacing the studs, the length for 5mm & 10mm are the same, so you can play around with it. I'll only have to buy the 10mm plates and not have to get new studs.
If I was a betting man, I'd wager that I'll end up with 10 all around.

You are running what tires? I'm running 245/40 and 275/35. So 5 and 10 and I can use the OEM studs?

The oem 225/245s. No, you will need longer bolts for even 5mm spacers, but every 10mm uses the same bolt. So 5 & 10 use the same, 15 & 20 use the same, etc.

If you can get 6 full turns on the lug nuts you will be ok, but w/ 5mm it's right in that gray area (from what I've read, can't attest firsthand) so would be best to get the longer ones.

Last time I replaced studs I used a torch and tapped them out and I used open ended lugs. I am guessing I can't use those here but yes on the torch? How did you guys replace them?

Just used a 2lb sledge to tap them out.
To reinstall new ones, I used this kit:
Kastar 938 Wheel Stud Installer Kit

Note, you will want to put some grease between the spacer and the washer, to keep the metal from chewing itself up. I had to get replacements as I didn't think to do that, and it's not mentioned in the instructions.

I'm having a set of coupe wheels powder coated in Hyper Silver with a tinted clear coat. I hope they turn out they way I have it pictured in my head.

I'm still deciding on tire sizes, but know that I want PSS type. The OEM size of 225/245 would be lighter in weight, but not look as aggressive. I don't plan on using spacers and my RWD G is likely going to remain at the stock ride height.

Those of you that went with wider than OEM tires, did you consider the added weight?
