Miles Per Gallon Feedback
I know alot of people who have g37s and maximas that the car requires premuim gas and they put regular gas anyway why spend 40,000 on a car and put crap gas and when you put regular gas the car starts to get a knocking sound in the engine. If you put the best gas in youll do better on mpg even though it may cost a few more dollars it saves you money in the long run and you dont have to fill up that many times
M-F up NJ turnpike, weekends cruisin around nj and pa.not too much driving around town.to date overall average since i picked her up in sept 09 is around 24.4.i log all my fill ups.car tells me about the same
I drive about 50/50 highway and city. Cruise on the highway at about 80. We only get 91 octane in AZ, they call that premium...
For the first few months I was getting 20MPG, then I installed paddle shifters and it went down to about 19 (Driving more aggressively and downshifting). the downshifting rev match actually uses some gas too. Then I installed the new tanabe axle back and it's down to 18. Again, just driving more aggressively to hear the sweet sound!
I took an M37 on a 200 mile roadtrip almost all highway at 80MPH, and got 25MPG. Based on that I'd say I'm just killing myself in the G drving around town and putting the hammer down from time to time.

How do u check mpg?
Excuse the newbie question but this is my 1st car and I havnt read the manual. Reason I ask is because I find myself filling my tank every Saturday. I let the tank go down to 1/4 then fill up. I have G37xs. I drive both city and highway.
Can anyone explain how to check mpg and how to set to zero so I can check with a full tank?
Thanks!

1) On the right side of the instrument cluster, there are two buttons. The top one navigates through the different options (i.e. average MPG/speed, range, time driven, etc). Press until you see the MPG/Speed option. Then hold the lower button to reset it.
2) Press the info button below your LCD screen. Then press Fuel. Pretty much has the same info you could get from the instrument cluster. The rest should be self explanatory.
You should definitely peruse your manual (at least the quick guide) so you can get more familiar with the car. Enjoy!
BTW, I got 22.8 MPG on my last tank (I think average speed was in the upper 30's or lower 40's), but that was like 75% highway and I babied the gas pedal. I figured it's too much work to get that kind of mileage, so I'm back to normal driving, which gets me right around 20 MPG.
