Well I don't think it's Apple/Oranges .... it's about the transmission, not the car. Your telling me that if the Q60 has a 3.0 twin turbo 6, that can do 0-60 in the 4.3-4.5 range but has a dual clutch and not a clutch pedal you'll walk away? For the perspective price point, performance and most importantly Japanese reliability .... what are your real options? I doubt very much that sales will suffer without a 6MT as long as it has some get-up and go and better low end torque.
I might walk away. Although cars are becoming harder to find in manual so IDK....might be stuck. As it stands, I would want the car in 6spd...period. I don't drag race so I dont give a **** about launch control. I want the control of the manual and I like to hear the exhaust note build as I shift through the gears...I like to drive the car, not the other way around. So my mindset now would be a complete no for me
I am glad there are folks that pray to the same car gods as I.
Those who dont care about the transmission, just dont care about absolute 100% control.
It might sound silly, but a manual transmission feels "safer" in the rain to me.
I can de-couple and kill power at any time if things get too slippery or hairy, and all I have to do is point the wheel straight and the car corrects itself..
I can go from 2nd to 5th in one shot or I can go from 5th to 2nd with a punch of the gas and that sh*t feels great.
If my battery was to ever die, I can pop-start the b*tch and drive to the nearest shop for a new one.
I can go on and on about the positives of the "Standard" transmission.
And no, I dont care to eat and drink and talk on my cellphone and smoke a fatty all while im driving, just because I have an automatic slushbox.
I just love winding those gears out man.

This is not a auto vs dct vs manual thread. There are plently of those threads if that is what you would like to discuss. So please stay on topic. Cheers and continue to enjoy the forum.

Fair Enough.
BTW, anyone out there in the secret Nissan world know if this technology is gonna make it into the new 3.0L Twin turbo? Is this why they are taking so long to reveal this engine?

Don't get the point of this low budget virtual Q60 drive video, but it would be interesting if this is how the new engine will sound. Also funny how the driver never shifts gears via the paddles and couldn't help but LOL at the M4 flyby. Yeahhhhh right...

Better delete the post and ban the member who posted it.

And that concludes my jackas$ post of the day.
I agree. Its cheesy. But it is probably a joke, just to shut people up. Almost like..."Here damn it! Leave me alone! you'll get info when we have it"
Don't know if that was the intent or not but I really can't see Infiniti being serious about posting that video

Inside scoop from a source that went to an Infiniti press event and saw the production version of the Q60. This is all they could say...
"Rear deck lid area reminds me of a first gen G35 in a good way. The face is great, but there's a part of the nose that everyone is going to hate. The shoulder line is perfect."
Don't ask me for the source, I cannot disclose.

Honestly...I did not see this discussion about the advert until just now. This 'video' popped up yesterday while I was browsing youtube subscription videos. It was the first time I actually watched a 1:00+ youtube advert all the way through. When the video played as an advertisement, I was startled by the first few frames as my phones gyroscope and directional abilities to control the playbacks POV within the field of vision.
I instantly thought to Google's Project Cardboard and the other low-cost, phone as a display VR headsets-- it seems it was produced for those. Although it does bring back thoughts to the days of 2x CD-ROM and SoundCard kit. along with games like Myst ... I liked it, it caught me off guard as I had never seen a YT video with that ability. Had it been for a different car ..I still would have watched it, interacted with it ..probably all the way through. Isn't that the core intent as far as the producing firm and Nissan as concerned?

I believe it does more to hurt the brands image than help.
