That's what Stillen got on their dyno for the Q50 Red. I think people forget the engine is designed to last for a long, long time and is covered under a decent warranty. So there has to be a major fudge factor built-in as manufacturing tolerances and "quality" will have some performing less, some performing for far longer. I think it's pretty unfair to compare a stock engine with a warranty to a stressed high output engine due to an aftermarket flash which most likely won't last for nearly as long.

With that said, my Evo had a down pipe, BOV and Fujitsubo exhaust. With a nice safe tune, I had 315 to the wheels. I sold the car at around 53K miles to a guy in the Air Force who shipped it to Germany where he was stationed. I believe he had the car over 100K miles and never had an issue with it and ended up bringing it back to the states. I did baby the car, never raced it and it was well taken care of.

It'd be interesting to hear what Infiniti's target is for this engine. I think realistically, for any turbo engine, you're probably looking at 150K with factory-prescribed maintenance before components drop in performance or start failing (mostly the turbo/vacuum-solenoid system). Could be absolutely realistic to see 200K out of one of these engines with modern turbos and associate engineering. Who knows. But I'd let the big boys do the research on the new turbos and optical sensors before being the first out of the box to throw mods at the car. I guess someone has to be first though right????

at least the auto guys will be faster this time! (full boost between shifts)

agree with the infotainment ... hoping Android Auto hits it soon.

Sadly, Android Auto and Car play won't be out before model year 2018. I don't know how solid that is but last couple training sessions they have told us and they always say "Before anyone ask, Android Auto and Car play won't be out before MY18". Idk if its the same story everyone else is getting but its what we have been told.

No Android Auto until 2018, very sad news. I hope they re-think it.

Have you guys noticed that when the Japanese come out with an Engine, they keep it in production for 7-12 years making little improvements and refindmenta here and there. The Germans are usually have a shorter cycle on there engines before major redesigns or new units. They also seem to have more issues. The Americans usually are in the middle, their V8s hardly change but the 4s and 6s fall in the middle.

Just seems like these longer cycles lead to less problems and more $$$ in their pocket in the long term by keeping R&D cost down.

Anyone like the new M2? 4 second car 0-60 built for the track, actually great size & well priced. I really like it.

Try it out in a Honda etc. I like the features of a smartphone on the dash. For me, it is a deal breaker, at least at the Infiniti sticker prices.

The current "inTouch" system is garbage. I prefer the old unit on my 2015 Q60 coupe over the inTouch.

Heck, we were promised Pandora app in 2014. It's now 2016. Still no Pandora app. lol

And what's really garbage. Try turning the AC on and off.
You have to click on climate button and then click on the AC app button. Instead of a simple button on the damn dash.

For a few it may. For me personally, I couldn't care less. Would it be a nice addition, sure. My main concern is getting a 400hp twin turbo car that looks awesome and will be reliable. That is why I will be upgrading in a couple years to the new Q60.

It's actually not a bad deal but with the DCT, it's almost at $60K. Regardless, they seem to have jettisoned the stupid package/options game of years past and most of the good stuff is included (sans backup camera). If you're an manual tranny fan you'll probably be under $55K out the door with no options. It'll be interesting to see how the Q60 compares. I'd gamble it'll be a lot softer round the edges.

I'm with you... To turn anything on / off you have to take your eyes away from the road.
the previous generation had buttons that you could just feel for. And there was not the need for multiple clicks just to get to what you need.

Cars are becoming more tech focused and less driver focused.
