Q60 Final Teaser - Revealed in Detroit
checking out the competition a little ....
went on the Lincoln site to check out the 400hp MKZ, which really improved its looks over the previous "whale-mouth" grilled car. i'm not really interested in a 4-door, but a luxury sedan with 400hp TT V6 and available AWD ~$50k is certainly a direct competitor to the Q50.
the only thing i brought away from the experience is .... GOOD LORD, LINCOLN'S OPTION PACKAGES ARE A CONFUSING PILE OF HORSE S**T!!!!!
i have never seen anything like it - overlapping option packages, requiring this and that to get this ....

. i added Navigation in one package, and it was included in several other packages and i, um ... WTF?!?
when i was done (i'm not sure exactly what i had), but it was $56k.

If you want a comparable Sedan to the Q50, the Jaguar XE R sport is it. Bonus, it has Rack and Pinon Electric Power steering vs. DAS. (garbage)
But the Q50 TT has a little more HP.
Well since the engines are going to be a major new addition to the coupe I should mention I was able to test drive the 300hp version of the TT yesterday. I hadn't visited the Inifniti website in a few months so I didn't realize that you could get a 300hp car without the sport (I was thinking the TTs were all silver or red sports). The car I test drove was a regular 3.0t with the 17in wheels. I didn't spend a whole lot of time in it but I was very impressed by the ride (smaller wheels definitely helped) and the engine. It felt very linear and not much different than my parents' 2008 G35...it pulled nicely and felt plenty strong. I came home and tried to build one on the website and it seems like lot of the packages are not available with the Graphite/Aluminum trim...whats up with!?!? What does the interior color have to do with if I can get a tech package or not? And its a shame they don't have a 18in performance tire and wheel option for the base 3.0t as the 17s look way undersized and not everyone needs 19s.
I was actually on the way back from the Audi dealer when I stopped at the Inifniti. I had gotten one of those 75$ gift card offers for test driving a new Audi. My parents are looking to replace their 2008 G35 sedan and so the new A4 was already on the list. Its a nice car, especially the fully digital instrument cluster - the clarity is just stunning and I really like the way the rest of the IP and center stack is laid out. The new 2.0t is also quite peppy though I felt like it had more lag off the line than the Q50.

Man I should check my local dealer this week and see if they have any of the 400's in. Then again, it'll make my IPL feel disappointing so perhaps not
Maybe I can convince my wife to give up SUV's for one....
