I'm sure there's a really simple answer but I'll risk the embarrassment for some clarification.
Simple answer: Federal side impact regulations. It is a lot easier to meet the requirements with a shorter door and a B pillar in the middle of the car. Remove the B pillar and stretch the doors and it takes more precious metal to keep us coupe drivers safe.

That's like 440 & 410 @ the crank. Are those #s STD or SAE? Either way, it will be underrated...

Awesome information! Made my day! . I definitely think the new Q50/Q60 is underrated as far as the output numbers go, but that will help with my insurance, lol!

Dyno Testing:
The Q50 Red Sport made 375 rwhp and 350 ft-lbs (consistently over 3 runs). This was bone stock, no mods.

This motor is definitely underrated. The factory claims 400hp and 350 ft-lbs as the output at the crank. Assuming 15-20% drivetrain loss (7 speed auto and runflat tires). We estimate the engine is actually making 440-470 HP and 410-440 Ft-Lbs at the crank. Keep in mind this is also on California 91 octane (the worst gas for making power).

The engine bay is very tight, but we are taking measurement to see what we can fit in there and what the potential is. We have a few ideas we are working on. As far as parts go we will being with the basic bolt ons. We will probably live stream testing of those in the future (can be seen on our facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/stillen).

***More to come***

The Camaro uses a small block V8 from GM. Which is actually like one of the best V8's in the entire world. Its not fair to compare.

Your right, because an engine with 2 less cylinders and half the displacement putting down 50 less HP is no impressive.....

They get compared when their prices are the same or cheaper for the Camaro SS.
