Question Roof lining

I have a quick question about the two strips that sit on either side of the roof, that can be removed. The one on the driver's side keeps popping up, and no matter how many times I push it down it continues to pop up. Should I purchase a new one or should I hot glue it down? Any suggestions? Thanks.

Oh ok. Thanks. I added a little bit of loctite and see if it will work. If not I guess I will go down to the dealer.

Always take it to the dealer for these types of issues.

Why would you put Loctite on it and not an adhesive??? That is not what Loctite is made for at all.

You mean the black plastic pieces that tun down both sides of the roof from front to back that keep water from running off the roof down your windows? Those should be something the dealer can replace under warranty, but if they find out you put Loctite on them they might not. Take that shit off of there.

dude, locktite is applied to threads of various fastners to keep them from loosening. If your out of warranty you would be better off using a clear silicone adhesive that you could easliy trim off excess when cured. **** man that stuff will hold about anything when applied properlly, good luck, but like others said, probably a dealer thing

yeah, do you mean the two black strips or the color coded piece that runs from the roof down to the fender/hood?

I just add two drops of it to the front section. Not the whole lining. I didn't know it was a big deal. I can still pop it up. I know I could take it down to the dealer and I will it if it keeps happening. I just try to avoid the dealer. They are terrible. Whenever I take it in for something they usually mess something else up worse. I took it in for a squeaky brake pedal and they ended up blowing a gasket for my brake booster causing it to leak.

How do those strips come off? I'm looking at removing them to paint the top.

Bro if that's the case, find a different dealer. Always use a dealer. Car costs too much for you to have to deal with a warranty issue on your own.
