I spent some time driving the IPL G37 in both auto and manual. It's a fun car, but if you're a current G37 coupe owner, it's not necessarily worth dumping your current car to "upgrade". The exhaust is supposed to be louder and apparently they went through 30 different exhaust setups before arriving at the production exhaust sound, but you'd never know how much work they did because, to me, it lacks the signature tone of the Z and G coupes I so love.
Power: there's more but it won't blow you away if you own a G37 coupe. 18 hp at the crank is minimal on the butt dyno from what I can tell.
The new parts: I asked the marketing guys if someone could just purchase the new IPL parts and bolt them onto their existing G37 coupe and they wouldn't answer my question, so the likely answer is yes. The new exhaust system is an H pipe, not a Y pipe like the current G coupes with less twists and turns.
Body kit: I didn't love or hate it, but I'm likely not their target customer since I'm not a fan of the boy racer look.
Suspension: Really well put together. I found the springs to be a bit harsher overall than the current G37s coupe, but overall the suspension felt more forgiving. I took some pretty fast turns in the backroads of Napa in the IPL G and quickly fell in love with the suspension. I could have used these changes on the last track day I took my car on.
The future: I asked about what is going to come next from IPL, but naturally, no information was forthcoming. I did mention that Infiniti is not playing in the leagues of AMG, BMW's M, Cadillac's V and Lexus' F line of performance cars and they acknowledged that they are basically unsure of how the IPL is going to sell. My guess is that if people like the IPL and it makes the numbers, maybe some G56's might come out and finally we'll have an Infiniti that can play with the higher end performance cars.
Future Infiniti cars: I asked how the Q, but no answer, same with an Infiniti GTR other than to say they would prefer not to do platform sharing between Infiniti and Nissan that much. I asked about future G's stating how they typically make major changes every 6 years with a minor refresh on the VQ every 2. The Infiniti folks responded that it's likely that major product refreshes would likely get pushed out further due to the financial environment that has impacted just about every automotive OEM. This might mean no major change to the VQ for another year or two, unfortunately.
The folks at Infiniti, Trevor and Ray, were awesome and gave us a ton of info and free reign to drive nearly the entire Infiniti lineup. The M56, in case you haven't driven it, is a beast of a car and I could get the tail to slide out with just a quick dab of throttle.
And now for some pics with more to come later.

Ya nice pics. Bodykit growing on me especially after seeing non ipl 2011 chin
. Malbec black looks clean too. Considering trading up from an 08 for the IPL. Wheels aren't bad for stock, would prob go aftermarket though anyway. As everyone else has reiterated the 2011 needs a drop and less wheel gap across the entire line. I'm glad Infiniti is doing something new with the IPL even if it is just a baby step to a real performance division. Consider a 2011 fully loaded sport/nav/prem MSRP's for around 45k add another 5k for IPL bodykit/exhaust/HP tune/wheels at 50k it's not a bad deal

One more thing that anyone who tracks their car might find interesting: the new IPL G37 also comes with a new and bigger oil cooler that requires another extra quart of oil.
I made a quick video as I drove a new FX35, following the IPL. Not the most exciting video unfortunately but you can hear the exhaust tone a bit.

Here are some better pics taken with a camera that isn't attached my lowly phone.

I'm hoping they let you buy those IPL wheels separately. Anyone know who the wheel manufacturer is and whether they are cast or forged? It's going to be these or Volk wheels in the near future for my coupe.
The body is just the same as the aero kit currently available right? Didn't like it at first, but it really grew on me. At first I really liked the idea of the red leather, but honestly in these pics it just looks too much. They should have two-toned it, I think would have looked much better.
Really dissapointed to hear about the exhaust note though. The cans look a little too big back there, but would have all been worth it to hear something great coming out of them. They appear to have silencers...I wonder if they are removeable...

the kit is horrendous.. that's just my IMO. It reminds me of how toyota has the base corrola and the corrola S. This IPL is the corolla S
