The new IPL G37S
"We really really think that this [the exhaust tips] is one of the features that is going to distinguish our IPL."
Really? You know what distinguishes a performance vehicle to me? Its performance.

At least Infiniti is offering an alternative to the aftermarket and putting a factory warranty on it. This first IPL may not be the M3 killer everyone wants but the ipl design concept is not even intended to be anything like that anyway at this point. A fully loaded stock G is 45k msrp, with the ipl g coming in for 49k it is actually not a bad alternative. Aftermarket rims, body kit, exhaust etc would be around the same 4-5k at least. So those who want to mod themselves can get a base G and be happy, and others who want a factory "aftermarket" feel can spend the premium and get it straight from Infiniti.
I of course would love a 60k true performance G but looks like that is not happening at least in this models cycle! Maybe 2013?

Infiniti has to start somewhere I guess. I'm sure people would say the same about BMW's "M" name if it were to debut in modern times. I can see it now, "M? What the hell is that? Just M?"
I would have liked to see more than an 18+ HP bump that can be achieved with an ECU reflash. G50 would have been great at $49k and 400+ HP from a N/A engine.
