though i wont be getting this model i am anxious to see what the "refreashed" version looks like. like i said earlier this one doesnt look bad at all to me. about the performance and the so-called turbo and s/c was nothing set in stone. nobody from infiniti came out to the media and put a stamp on anything. they didnt say they had a competitor for the M series or amg. so all basically the hype was for nothing. its a small upgrade in power that wont void your warranty had you gone aftermarket. im just sayin.

I wonder what the "regular" S version will look like as others have stated. The IPL is not doing much for me at all at this point. Hopefully we'll see more tomorrow.

Yeah, I'm sort of underwhelmed here. 18hp and 6 ft lb torque increase? I mean, come on. The 0-60 is probably the exact same, seeing as how the extra bits probably add a bit of weight.

They do indicate that this is just the first in a line of products in the IPL envelope, so perhaps there is more to come this weekend at Pebble B. I thought they were supposed to unveil something on Sunday. As well, I read awhile back that IPL will likely be providing SC and TT systems for the G37, so there may be hope yet. A 3.7L TT engine could easily produce GTR like hp numbers (we're only down 0.1L of displacement).

Styling wise, the car no longer "flows" for me. The changes disrupt the clean lines of the car for me, and it actually does not look as sleek or aerodynamic. I'm not sure they will be selling many of these models, but then again, they did indicate it would be limited. FAIL.

Infiniti is nothing more than a brand name. The real deal is the Nissan engineers and I'm sure they know what to do IF Nissan wanted to build an M3/ISF competitor. They already built the GT-R and have been building the Skyline range for decades. If the corporate wanted a high performance car, they'll do it.
They have the technical resources but they can't make a business case for it. They said the same thing about a Q sedan and M coupe. Ghosn said that they have "ideas on the table" but until someone can present him with a viable business case (i.e. make money off of it) the cars won't be built.

Building a high performace car is one thing, being able to sell it in large enough quantities and at a high enough premium to make your money back is something else.

They're introducing two cars, the IPL coupe and the G25 sedan.

But sometimes a performance car isn't about just making money, it's about having a halo car. I mean, I would say that given all the development that went into the GTR, they probably aren't making that much profit if at all with their current pricing. Lexus is taking a hit every time they sell a LFA, even at the price of 400K. The Bugatti Veyron really costs about 5 million to make per car.

I love the new rims. I think the performance upgrades are very nice and balanced. Would love to give it a test drive. But there are no news on this in Japan what so ever. They will probably reveal this during Tokyo Auto Salon. Too bad I will be too busy chasing booth babes

so they fitted fogs into new sports bumper... interesting... i would definitely consider that... will chat to Nissan guys after they release this in Japan

argh, I can't stand this. The more I look at the pictures, the more this IPL G looks like a duck. It needs serious surgery on the front nose.

Totally agree. I don't find the styling "enhancements" on this car appealing in any way, shape or form.

I kinda like the new rims reminds me of the TL Type-S rims. The front bumper is ok and gets a + only because it has fogs.. Def want to hear what the exhaust sounds like
