The new IPL G37S
I drove a 6MT IPL today. I agree with previous posts for the most part except:
- Pictures don't do it justice. It looks much better in person.
- If you're in the market for a G, this is the one to get. I drove 2 mountain passes today and it's fantastic in the twisties. Fan- freakin'- tastic. I was easily doubling "suggested" speeds for corners.
- It's soooo much better balanced and faster in and out of turns. Where my G37S "skips" through corners or loses just enough traction for the VDC to kick in, this one does NOT and begs for more.
- The 18 extra ponies can be felt on top end (naturally). It broke 100+ without so much as flinching. The engine and tranny are much smoother "out of the box". The 08s and 09s I've driven are NOT this smooth out of the box.
- Add stage 3 CAI and this thing would be even more perfect than it is right now. Plus it would help the bottom end (IMPO).
- The exhaust, in my opinion, is very well done. It's "deep" and unintrusive. It "isn't the sound we're used to" because, honestly, the cabin is quieter... in many many ways. Trust me on this, these guys did their homework.
- It "sings" at 6000 through to redline... It's a "quiet strength" you hear in its notes as you row through the gears
- It doesn't "track" (tramline) at all. Ever. I hit many grooves and cuts between 80 to 130, it was brilliant, and hugged the road even better than the 8s and 9s I've driven (and I've driven dozens).
I'm impressed. As for the price, I think it could use some work... and I just might be talking some business soon... might... maybe...

I could see someone coming from another brand getting the IPL as their first G but is it really worth it to "upgrade" from an 08 to the 2011 IPL? I am thinking about it but then again I already have my 08 fully modded. I did test drive the IPL and the body kit + 09-11 changes are really the only reasons I would tradeup (white gauge lights, high res nav which is available on all 09-11) but then again the 2013 G refresh is right around the corner. Either way I can't wait for the remodeled 2013 IPL G
Yeah guys I saw this in person at the dealership 2 days ago. It's a gorgeous car and I bet the 15 ponies plus exhaust note and revamped suspension are delightful. Not to mention the rims in person are gorgeous. Don't judge this car from pictures, I thought they were ugly too, go check it in person. You will be surprised. Def a good start for Infinities IPL line.

It's just the Infiniti aero kit with fogs. CBE is same as the NISMO 370z.
And if you have 2010 with Nav you already have the updated Nav.
ECU updated you can get from the 2011. Also springs are only 20% stiffer then G37s.
I can wait for Gen7 G.
Only reason it feels that way is because it's new.
Only change from G37S to this is the springs are 20% stiffer. Sways are the same.
Wheels are same 245 in the rear and 225 upfront.
Also the aero kit helps with down force, but you can put the same kit your on you car for $3900. I just don't like th kit it takes away from the sexy lines of your G.
And if your VDC is kicking in, then you may need new tires or if your running springs then your shocks may be worn out.
I also see you have 2008, that was the year for all the bugs. My 2009 1/2 my build day was 11.15.2009. I can take very nice turns 25mph over the post speed and my VDC does not kick in.
When the 2013/2014 G comes out the IPL is going to look raced out.
I would not go from 08-09 to IPL unless you have too.

^ are you serious!!!!???? 4k for that kit?? That's just about as much as me Zele kit... Infiniti has gone mad. But I guess if people don't want to spend the monies they can work it into the payment, but that's wayyy too expensive for that.
True.... I agree Sam, the 50 yr old + customers who will buy this car probably haven't heard of it. They probably dont even know it's a Nismo exhaust that's been out for two years. You are 100% correct.
Infiniti knows people mod the car so why not sell a pre-modded car with a warranty.
