Car wont shift into gear

Hi guys,

I was trying to pull out my A/V unit and splice into the xm input, something went wrong along the way...it may have been because i tried starting it while in drive?

Anyways, the car starts, is in park but wont shift to any other gear, wont turn off with a single click of the push button-it requires a long hold, the gauges arent displaying anything, and the center console buttons arent working other than the emergency blinkers, although everything is properly connected.

I tried disconnecting the negative terminal of battery but that didnt help.

Any help would be appreciated

I suggest putting everything back the way it was. You might have created a very big problem

I assume you did a search for the FSM for your vehicle and followed the electrical schematic wiring diagram prior to cutting into wires?

As Twista has suggested, put everything back the way it was.

I did follow a diagram and only spliced onto the LH-/LH+ and RH-/RH+ for the xm. I connected everything back like it was and I still have this problem, any other ideas?

is the white box (ac regulator) above the radio plugged in or in correctly. these are all the signs of this unit not being plugged in.

It sounds like you probably missed a connection back there somewhere or a connector possibly not being fully engaged?

This may be a long shot, but I would check your fuses.
Specifically for this.. http://www.infinitig37.com/TSB/ITB10-063a.pdf

I tapped the Homelink wire to install my radar detector a while back and popped this fuse in the process. My symptoms werent quite as severe as yours, but worth a look.
