rough 2nd gear

rough 2nd gear

for some odd reason my 2nd gear is rough at high revs...the d*** thing has grinded hard twice when attempted.. yet it doesn't seem like im making any mistakes yet the car is very difficult to "pop" into 2nd from 1st....
anyone else have this problem???

I haven't had this problem. When I shift into second it is nice and smooth. Maybe someone else will be able to tell you.

I know what you mean. mine did that over the weekend when i went to the tracks with my buddy and ran the car a few times. when i'm driving normal its pretty smooth. i have no idea either i thought it was just me. can someone help explain the problem please?

maybe its just the hand being quicker than the foot..im going to try clutching faster

This sounds like a problem with the syncro's in the transmission. I had the same problem with a '85 300ZX with the 1st to 2nd shift at high revs and also trying to do a normal downshift from 3rd to 2nd. As time progressed going into reverse when completely stopped also was grinding gears. Time to visit the dealer and get a new transmission.
