Drain pan...check

Oil filter clamp...don't know what the hell is that. You can remove and install the filter by hand.

A 10mm and 12mm wrench...check

If your car is not lowered, you can get the Rhino ramps from your local auto part store. If it is lowered, you have a few options...
1) Get a car jack and stands
2) Get low profile ramps like Race-R ramps
3) Do a little DIY project and build your own ramps.

I use Motul 8100 5W/30 oil and a Mag Power 2 oil filter.

Hmm...I don't have a band on my filter. I just twist off the filter with my hands and screw on the new filter by hand. Maybe its something new on the 2009 model?

I've done oil changes on my Camry and 3.2 TL before and they didn't have a band either.

..."Hmm...I don't have a band on my filter"....
..."Oil filter clamp...don't know what the hell is that"...

I think you guys should just take it to the dealer, ask someone to show you, or, better yet, use the search function and do a liitle research.
..You can come over my place, I'll show you how to do it, how to use a filter wrench, and where the band is on the filter...I'm a very good teacher.

Dude....in the "maintenance" thread there are TONS of opinions on oils. Take a look there. Bottom line, use what you like and what meets spec.

I'd suggest taking it to the dealer for the first few oil-changes...and then keep all receipts.

I've been having this rare oil consumption issue (1 quart per 1K mile) since the beginning and so it makes it easier for me to routinely have them run a test as per due-diligence on my part. So when the CEL light goes on with a rapidly degraded Cat they will have to perhaps put a new engine in there.

as for the filter and oil...use the stuff recommended by infiniti (I use motul 300v)

Follow the instructions on letting the engine stand for 15 minutes after warm-up then check level stick...else you'll get incorrect reading (don't ask..I know this is weird)
