Attached is my UOA. I did my first oil change at 1200 miles and then at 3628 miles (shown in analysis) using dealer Mobil conventional oil. Does conventional Mobil have this much Moly in it or is the dealer adding an additive? I might run the next few oil changes at 2500 miles until most of the wear metals are reduced.

JonnyOzero3 - Your oil analysis was getting better using regular dino, why did you switch to Ester?

The TSB was the only reason, really. Ran it a few times for trending (curious what the deal was with the iron/lead spike), and now I'm switching to Penn Ultra for a fill. We'll see how that goes...

Totally normal.

Typical break in is 10-15K miles before the wear metals hit normal levels. Yours are already pretty close to normal except copper, and high copper is routinely seen in early G37 UOAs.

By the way, I have changed my oil at 500, 1500 and 3000. I sampled at 3000. Here's my first UOA

The only thing I might suggest is getting a Dyson Raw UOA for $59 to see accurate readings of your flash point, TAN, oxidation, nitration and fuel dilution.

$59 seems pretty steep, how is it better than a typical blackstone report?

Blackstone's OK if all you care about is wear metals. Dyson uses a better lab and offers more info for the extra cost.

With oxidation and nitration, Dyson's report will tell you how efficiently you are burning fuel.

TBN is fairly meaningless in the absence of TAN. So if you are looking to test an extended drain oil, you'll want Dyson's report.

Finally, Dyson will give you an accurate reading on your fuel dilution, which is probably the #1 problem facing today's engines, and the #1 issue in oil performance. It impacts everything from wear metals to flash point.

So after reading through this thread its safe to say that Nissan ester oil is fine to use on the shedule 1 maintenance plan correct? I asked because I paid for the maintenace plan for up to 75,000 miles but i do plan to get my oil changed every three months or 3750 per the plan.

Yes. Are you sure they will change your oil every 3750 miles with Nissan Ester?

No they actually didnt change my oil with the Esther oil. I had to request it. I just pay the difference. i went with the Esther oil because its readily available at the dealership and on very cold starts my engine was knocking up something serious. Now that i use the esther oil, knock is gone.

Conventional oil

5/30 dealer fill from standard 30K servicing. Extremely aggressive, mostly city driving with 2 auto-x days. Average ambient temps ~90-100 F.

Track oil recommendations

I addition to the above two UOAs I have a UOA of M1 0W30 and PU 5W30 pending.

Does anyone have any oil recommendations for track? On BITOG people have recommended M1 0W40 or GC 5W30. I had been previously using one oil weight for DD as well as track days and changing out prior to each session but may switch out to a dedicated oil for single use instead.
Another difficulty I am having is comparing apples to apples UOA given that each OCI is different depending on when each track day falls in the interval.

Mike - I see that you track often and use Motul. Do you also use Motul for DD and what is your oil change habits? Also what weight Motul do you use? Thanks.
