its not worth buying new dust shields, on top of the cost oyu have to remove the wheel bearings and disconnect the axles at the hub to change them...just cut them at the perpendicular edge with tin snips and your done in about 5 minutes

Yeah, that link in the first post (for the Z site) shows the procedure.

Well received my "Power Stop" calipers, and finish look like shiet compared to another members Powerstops.... Bought them from Rock Auto. Noticed it came from "return center". I guess somebody already returned them back.
Bought another set from Amazon we will see how powder coating will compare to Rock Auto stock.

That's about what to expect since they are powdercoated remans, they will be bead blasted then painted, so that finish is about on par w/ what I've seen.

Preparation, blasting is not that bad. Problem is quality of powder coating(orange peal). Bad operator, uneven coverage, damp conditions or too much charge in powder....

Having done some powder coating, a pebbly surface means low temperature or too short a bake time. This assumes good surface prep...

Would be interesting to see what the calipers surface condition was prior to the painting, some of those remans can be pretty rough once they get bead blasted. Understood regarding the orange peel, but that paint will reflect the surface prep too.

I have a 2010 G37x Coupe and was verifying what is needed to upgrade to the Akebonos for front and rear. Caliper, rotors, brake pads and banjo bolts? How to know if I need the hardware kit?

The Centric pads have hardware kits included, most other pads won't.

What size rotors do I need for this conversion? Or buying let’s say the Z1 rotors that are compatible with the Akebono brakes the right match up?

are the sport akebono calipers a direct bolt on or do I need brackets or any mounting hardware? Also different pads and rotors? Thanks Lou in Niagara Falls

I'm stunned people are still asking questions about this subject.

It is a direct bolt-on. You need the larger rotors. The pads are different from the standard brakes.

Where have people been ordering these from recently? I have a 2010 G37xS Sedan. This a commuter car that will get 30-40k miles a year, I have a Jeep to waste money on so I am trying not to blow too much money on this one. Do they fit the stock wheels or do they require aftermarket? Trying to decide between this route and drilled/slotted for the stock calipers. Thank you
