New Akebono BBK on the cheap!

You cannot return non sport calipers for core refund (not from summit anyway)
I wish i had got black rotors. It would have provided a better contrast to the calipers and wheel than the silver finish.
Also, when modifying your dust shields i would recommend to slot and bend them rather than cutting off a portion of the outside.
When you slot and bend the dust shield covers the rotor completely still. I tried both methods as seen below.
Dont think you need new lines, just different banjo bolts as detailed in many places in this forum. Not sure what you're working with.
See pics on my comments below.

Deleted info about new factory calipers, scroll to Update below for that info.
Once you locate the calipers you can get the rotors & lines at rockauto.com
Rear rotors Centric C-tek CENTRIC Part # 12142101 ($31 each)
Front rotors CENTRIC Part # 12142100 ($44 each)
PosiQuiet Ceramic Front CENTRIC Part # 10513460 ($38 set)
PosiQuiet Ceramic Rear CENTRIC Part # 10513470 ($30 set)
As far as lines, that will depend on Sedan or Coupe so you'd have to look those up on your own, but should be about $70 for the F&R sets and about twice that for Stainless lines.
So your grand total would be
$850 or less for calipers
$150 rotors
$70 pads
$70 lines
So about $1200 for a paint ready BBK, everything included.
Obviously pad & rotor upgrades will add to the bottom line but still a good deal!
***UPDATE***
Used rebuilt calipers have become extremely scarce but getting brand new calipers directly from Infiniti parts still keeps the costs low and the calipers will be fully painted and ready to install.
Here's the part #s and the place is www.discountinfinitiparts.com (you must state that your vehicle is equipped w/ sport brakes such as a G37 S coupe, if you list your VIN# you may be sent the calipers that came on your vehicle, and you don't want them, lol).
41001JL02A Front right caliper
41011JL02A Front left
44001JL02A Rear Right
44011JL02A Rear Left
Also the brake hardware kits can be ordered from www.rockauto.com (these are just over $6 a kit, about $80 less than Infiniti prices) *****YOU ONLY NEED ONE HARDWARE KIT FOR THE FRONT AND ONE FOR THE REAR***** ALSO SOME PADS INCLUDE THE HARDWARE KIT SO VERIFY WHEN YOU ORDER (IF POSSIBLE)
Front kit Centric # 11742053
Rear kit Centric # 11742054
And you don't NEED new brake lines, just shorter banjo bolts, here's the size you need~ 17mm m10 1.0 banjo bolt and these are tough to find, here's the one source that I know carries them
https://conceptzperformance.com/Cart...n.php?II=13378
If you want SS lines rockauto has the best deal on those too, and these DO have the banjo bolts that will work, if you go w/ another brand of SS line I'm not sure on the banjos.
Stoptech SS lines
Front Centric # 95042012
Rear Centric # 95042503
So going w/ brand new calipers but not needing new lines should keep the total to less than $1100.
And once you get it all together and ready, here's a great DIY link to get them installed
Install Akebono Big Brake Kit on 370z or 350z
The only error in this link is the bleeding sequence is wrong, it should be~passenger rear, driver front, driver rear then lastly passenger front.
If you have aftermarket wheels and aren't sure if they will clear the new Big calipers, here's a link to templates you can use on your current wheels to see if they'll work, or maybe just need a small spacer~

Do you have to upgrade your rotors and pads when upgrading to bbk? Or Will the oem rotors and pads fit the bbk?

Yep^^^, when you mount the Akebonos on the steering knuckle and rear brake mount they will be further out than the smaller base calipers allowing for the much bigger 355mm front, 350mm rear rotor setup, and the new calipers require specific pads that only work for Akebono calipers.

Thanks! Can't wait to upgrade 😁

2012xS needed new calipers, pads, rotors and fluid, so I figured it's a good excuse to upgrade to BBKs. Ordered Power Stop KC4138A kit from Rock Auto for $850, pad hardware included. Got new Banjos from Z too.
Shouldn't need anything else, no?

In the upgrade install link, the guide says the front caliper mounting bolts are 21mm. It should be noted that on an xS, the bolts are actually 22mm. What a PITA.
PS. Does anyone have the torque specs for the lines (into caliper) and caliper mount bolts... I've seen anywhere from 60-90 ft lbs for mounting, and 70-90 in. lb. for the lines (into caliper). Going to the track in July and would love the peace of mind.

From the 2012 FSM:
Caliper bolts:91 Ft/lbs for front and 62 Ft/lbs for rear
Banjo bolts are 12 FT/lbs front and 10FT/lbs rear (144 and 120 inch lbs respectivly)

I wanted to point out the difference between the 370z guide (21mm) v. G37 install (22mm).
Hope it saves someone else the headache.
OEM tire lugs are 21mm. I use a deep socket for torquing the lugs, so I figured it would work on the calipers too . Ididn't buy the 22mm before taking everything apart and got burned. 🤷 I get to tackle it this weekend instead!

I didn't know that, I had 2nd gen g35 17" wheels, 19" g37 Wheels, 17" Maxima wheels, 18" 350z wheels and now have G35 19" wheels on this car and have always used a 22mm on the lugs cause I couldn't get a 21mm to fit...either way at lest your tool collection is growing which is a plus
