Soooo it appears that for the Iron Man install, the SMD LEDs are suck on the the front side of the shroud on the clear bumps (for lack of a better term).
How are the wires brought from the front of the shroud to the rear without being visible?
Are holes drilled in each clear bump to pass the wires to the backside?
edit... NEVERMINDDD I found some pics where it appears there is space to pass the wires between the clear bumps and the chrome shroud.
Seeing the Bare SMD leds out there in front does look kinda unfinished IMHO

Hey UCLA Brian
If the iron man mod has problems going out, then what about the led orb rings/halos? Will those have the same heat burnout issue as the SMD's?

I'd have to say it would depend on the LED rings, if they're truly LED or CCFL or 1 powerful LED projecting through the ring which acts as a wave guide (like BMW).
Generally I'd probably avoid putting the through-hole LEDs in there because they don't do well in heat. If it's SMD, it'd be hesitant too.
Audi pulls it off because they actually have an entire housing behind those SMDs and FANS to cool them.

Thanks Mike. I think it was you that posted it on the forum first, then I started seeing it everywhere. It's crazy how much design there is to their lights. Cooling pins?!

I dunno if it has been addressed but I'll be doing this soon as was wondering about curing time for the paint.
As well should you use a more plastic based paint like Krylon Fusion or Engine heat resistant paint? I've seen the 370Z guys write up urges the use of plastic paint and the guy on this board seem to use the engine block paint, not sure which one was better adhering/even application properties.
