I don't have experience with engine block paint. Have always used automotive paint from body shop. To properly adhere to the part, it's best to scuff the surface and clean it completely before spraying. I'd leave about 24hrs to allow curing. I've seen people that offer quick turn around then later come back to find chemical building up inside the lights from the paint curing.

But generally, I think regular paint will work fine too as long as you use the right technique.

But if I were to get headlights done, I'd either send it to wei boy or breftayker in LA.

Hey Danny,

I was wondering if you had any recommendations for guys doing good work in SoCal to install CCFL Angel Eyes in the headlights? I prefer ironman/arc reactor, but the LEDs burnout too quickly according to everything I've read and CCFL should last much, much longer (if they do go out, I've read that i just need to replace the inverter which does not require taking apart the headlight and thus much preferable).

Do you only want to install the rings? Do you have a kit in mind? Let me know, if I have time and you're still interested, I could look into doing it for you

Yes, I only want to install the rings, maybe a TSX lens swap too although that's lower priority. The kit I have in mind is the Umnitza Predator Chromium:

I'd like to paint match my headlight housings to my car (Blue Slate) but as far as I know infiniti only sells the paint pens. Does anyone know the closest can spray color to this color? Thanks for the help!

if you want a flawless paint job you should consider taking it to the bodyshop instead of rattle can paint

Yup. Rattle can will cover the basic colors. But for a more unique color like blueslate, you'll have to have a body shop mix the paint and shoot it for you.

I've had good luck with these guys. The paid seems to match really well and If you use several light coats and top it off with the clear gloss, even a highly visable spot looks factory.

I have not shot the Blue slate color on the Infiniti though. Only the Obsidian Black on my G37 wheel center caps. I have shot VW blue and Toyota blue with good results.

How do you turn on the "fog light" inside the headlights circled in red in the picture below? I have a 2008 coupe. I know the first turn sets it to auto, the second turns on the "parking light" (correct me if I'm wrong) and the third switch turns on both headlights and parking light. I've read elsewhere that later models have an actual fog light switch. Mine does not have this.

I was also thinking of switching the light circled in purple to a whiter color. What bulb number is it, a 2825? Thanks!
