Windshield popping noise with 2008 G37 Coupe
Please make sure to let us know what happens with this. I'll take my car over to Willowdale and get them to fix this EMBARASSING rattle. A friend that has a 335 coupe is always calling my car a Rice Krispie because of the snap crackle pop from the windshield - it is humiliating that a car this price does this.

I've had the popping windshield noise for about a month now (I live in MN). I have almost 6k on the clock. It has been nothing but cold here, but it seems that it always makes the noise when the car sat for a few hours. I park in a heated garage overnight, and as soon as I drive the car out and make a turn, I hear the popping in the lower right driver side between the window and dash. I leave it outside at work, and as soon as I get on the road I hear it for the first few turns.
I also have a bad rattle with the muffler and the center console arm rest. I'll have the dealer fix during my next oil change.

I would suggest to take it to Downtown Infiniti. They have done a few cars already and mine has been fixed. Ask for Greg the Service Manager.

Has it been confirmed whether or not the 2009 models are affected by this? Anyone with a 2009 that has this issue? Thanks, and I hope you all get the problem fixed. It would eat me up to have a noise like that after spending hard earned money on a car.
I guess it's a small world. My ex stopped by to show off her new Murano and let me take a test drive. Hit a bump (temperature was in the 20's) and I thought I was back in the G37! It looks like this a a common problem that cuts across all of Nissan's products. Here are some links that point to others ready to pull their har out:

Can anyone comment on the novel fix detailed in the 350Z forum?

seems to me that if its happening across vehicle body types then its most likely not a sheet metal thing. Too many things are different, different geometry, welding points, seams, interior design and fitment - etc. So that makes me think its in the types of fittings that connect pieces to other pieces or some other like element in the design of the different vehicles. For instance a clip that may hold or compress another piece together might be a common design flaw. These types of piece might be cross utilized in most if not all the pieces and could be the common link.
I took my G37S in today to get the windshield pop fix. They said that it was a common problem. They said it was a combination of dash mounts were loose and re-torquing the sunroof track. It seemed to work so far the "pop" is gone. Lets see you how long it last before it comes back.

It would be easier for you to post your audio clip so that the forum can tell you which "Popping" noise you have. More than one popping noise exists.
