Windshield popping noise with 2008 G37 Coupe

Purchased my coupe in October 2008. Shortly after this first checkup, and progressively getting worse, is a popping or cracking sound coming from either the forward dashboard or windshield. The nosie occurs whenever I go over a bump or section of road that causes the car to flex. Anyone else experience this problem or have a solution? Please respond to horvath@tampabay.rr.com. Thanks.

My brother had this noise in his 300C Hemi when he got the car, the sound was coming from one of the clips that holding around the windshield he got that replaced at the dealer on the next service.

This issue appears in at least three threads and so far nobody has indicated that the problem has been officially identified and solved. I'm ready to pull my hair out as this is the ONLY issue I have with the car....it wouldn't be so bad for the fact that the car is just so quiet!

Nope....the problem described here and elsewhere is not the TSB..The TSB refers to a noise tht varies with engine speed....this problem and mine only occurs when the car hits a bump that causes the car to flex......seems like there are more than one type of squeak/rattle...the lucky few might get them both!

ic. What does the dealer say about it? Just "normal" body flex?

The popping noise is very temperature dependent....on the two times I took it in the weather was warm and it only did it once and they could not repeat it.......so far global warming seems to be affecting us in the most unimaginable ways!!! The dealer seems to be really trying and they are just as perplexed.

What scares me is taking the car in to the satalite dealer we have here in my town. The last time i took it to the dealer for a simple oil change they washed mashed my car unbeknownst to me and scratched the hell out of it. 14 hours later I fininished polishing it but I dread taking it back to them for fear of more stupidity. I mean, if they have to take the dash appart, they may fix the problem but who knows what other issues or noises will creep up becase they took the thing appart. Its been my experience that you can never get it back togther as well as the factory did. So I'm hoping there will be a TSB or simple fix I can do myself. I'm even willing to buy the proper tools if they arn't stratospheric in price.

Sounds like rain on the sunroof?

This sounds lie a problem that started for me this morning - have done 1700 k's and the car is only a week old.

Initially I thought it rain on the sunroof but wasn't - have the car in for it's 1st service today so will ask the service guys and see what they say...
