Awesome information! Thanks everyone!
I bought my '13 G37 sedan last month. It's been a great car until I was running errands today and heard a creaking sound coming from the passenger side dash area. Definitely sounded like it was radiating in from the exterior. This thread explains it all!
It's a CPO so I think I'll call the dealership tomorrow.
I'm so relieved there is a fix for this. I love the car and have been bummed all afternoon about the noise.

Mine started creaking about two weeks ago. I use RainX regularly. Any correlation? Who knows.

Anyway, I ordered J-channel weather stripping, this to be specific. The ebay vendors are all out and there's enough to do it twice when I screw it up the first time.

I took my car into dealer for this exact issue, it drives me bonkers....sounds like the speakers are blown when listening to music. Dealer said they couldn't reproduce the issue, it take a good 10-15 minutes to really start popping and crackling...and requires a fairly bumpy road. Will update on how it is fixed...still under all my warranties.

FYI my windshield was replaced under warranty...no more squeaks, pops or crackles...very happy customer.

Bump - I just placed a thin piece of marine grade rope under the cowling; took 2 minutes and same effect!
