Question Updated Navigation Software

I just recently purchased a G37 Sedan in May, and there's a lot of streets that the GPS is not finding down here in Texas.
Anyways just curious if anyone knew the answer to a few questions.

1. How often does new software come out?
2. Where can I find out when it will come out, or if it has come out?
3. Do I have to purchase it, or is it free?

Thanks!

1. About once a year
2. The dealer
3. You have to pay a service fee to have the update done

Any idea how I can tell what version I have currently?

I found the website below, has nav software that came out in Jan, I'd hope since I purchased vehicle in May that it would already have this version.

You know I found that, but when you click on the option it gives you "Year 08-09" rather then an actual version number.

Wahhhhhh

I think that is the new version. Mine says 2007-08 even though I had the Nav software updated to the latest; I was hoping it would update the map version but it did not. The map software is different from the control software and they can be updated independently.

BTW you can search as there are other posts regarding the costs. I recall it being closer to $200.

Well that is the version number. Ask the dealer when the Year 09-10 version is coming out.

I don't think you can with the new ones. With previous versions you could download the DVD although I've heard of a lot of people not being able to update their systems. I believe the new way is for the dealer to plug a computer into the car and update it that way.

A simple search of the forum would have covered this topic. The website is http://www.navigation.com/is-bin/INT...gationMenu=YES The update runs $190 and this does not cover the dealership fee for installing it. You purchase the update through the website and recieve a code. You make an appointment with the dealership, supply the code, and boom, you have the latest maps. Updates usually will come out every year to year and a half. Here's an old thread about it:

AZ is right, I just had it done. Infiniti sent me a flyer with a special discounted price of $149 for the Navteq map update. I purchased it online, received a code by email and took it to my dealer. They charged me 1 hour to upload the update. They obviously do it via the CF Slot since they removed my CF card.

I sure hope there are computer crackers who are in love with the Gs as much as they love cracking. It'd be nice to just download it and install via CF card =]

EDIT: I just did a quick search and apparently there are some Navteq packages on a certain torrent site.

POI's on my G and my wife's G suck!! It makes it virtually useless to ever use POI's to try and find anything. My Garmin has tons of POIs and is much more useable.
