We currently own a 2009 Infiniti G37 A/T.
I don't know if it is a Viscous type or an open differential. However, we do know that it is not consistent at the track 60ft times, and we would like to upgrade it.
I have read that there are different options, but they are expensive, i.e., upgrade to Quaife, etc.
Red S on the trunk? Dampers have TOKICO stamped on them? Aluminum pedals? If yes, Sport model and you have a VLSD (Axle" code: RC33, or 3.357:1). Keep the gear oil in the diff changed and the vicious fluid will last a long time (key is to keep temps as low as possible). If no, you can swap a VLSD diff from a sport model into a Journey (same gear ratio).
I don't know about the Quaife option as I have asked many and few seem to know, CZP and Z1 included. Based on my understanding, an older sport model (07-08) pumpkin with 3.692:1 gears is the only option. OR, a diff from a 6MT (also 3.692:1), which will require some additional mods like the pinion yoke/flange. Makes little sense to me why the gears in the Auto VLSD cannot be swapped and the gears in the 6MT VLSD can.

That is my son's car Vin number. According to AI it is a base model.
So what will be then be my options to keep cost low and add LSD to this model?
Not able to tell from that info as it's generic to the G37 Coupe. Post a pic of the trunk or the interior where the pedals are located. I believe the Sport RWD also has staggered tires (wider on the rear than the front), so that may be ab indicator as well.
