Another thing. I'd really like to see the mounting ring raised out a bit, sort of like a bump/bevel to move the speaker out an inch or so from the surface to increase internal volume a bit. From looking at those shots the speaker is flush mounted.

I posted about this earlier in the thread but I think it was missed. There's a car with an enclosure that has what I'm talking about here: http://www.polkaudio.com/caraudio/in...olk.php?id=29#.

Having the speaker raised like that, and not indented like it is on the 4080 enclosure, would add a fair amount of internal volume without really sacrificing much internal trunk space as it's already angled.

4080, is this something that you might be able to do as an option?

Thanks

I just noticed... the box will interfere with the net in the trunk, correct? Or is there a way of still having it hang on to something?

If its like the previous 4080 boxes, you will still have use of the net, just on the side the speaker is on, the net will be more pressed towards the rear of the trunk. I had a 4080 box in my G35 Sedan and the net still worked with it.

Enclosure info.

1. The guy who came on and got everyone worried about airspace didn't have his facts right so don't be concerned... we will not offer it as a flush mount as our indent made for the grill actually provides a structural support that a flushmount sub on a ring cannot... the rigidity of our design is crucial for a high-power, heavy weight sub so that it doesn't flex the "front baffle" of the enclosure.

2. The cargo net still latches onto the pegs as it did on the G35.. no worries, it works.

3. The car in the pictures that I took is up for sale and is a smokin deal.. pm me if seriously interested and I will get you in contact with him (Houston area)... (no, its not blue, its black and it has 3400 miles on it).

Nice pics black betty, how are those speaker posts on the inside of the box? do you need to solder the wire to them or is there some sort of cap and you just clamp, or screw down the wires on the inside? My previous 4080 box had speaker wire already installed.

There's a hole in the post both inside and outside the box that the speaker wire goes into, then simply screw down the **** to hold them in place. I'll get a closeup later this evening.
